The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra Audience Reviews

Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
Peereddi I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
IncaWelCar In truth, any opportunity to see the film on the big screen is welcome.
Mr-Fusion The first time I saw "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" was at a movie marathon - of the mostly b-movie variety - the very pusher of the kind of bad '50s sci-fi this movie skewers. But skewer might not be the right word, seeing as the filmmakers do so in a loving manner, poking fun at the awfulness and inviting all of us in on the gag. The dialogue is laid out with a figurative sledgehammer, resulting in some great dialogue delivery (not to mention some awesome one-liners). It's all extremely silly, and watching these people buying into the buffoonery is half the fun.And that's not even touching the Skeleton himself, easily my favorite part of the movie. I love Blamire's voice, and he's got some of the best lines. And you might not think a fight-to-the-death between a puppeteered skeleton and a guy in a bargain basement monster suit would be entertaining, but it is. Oh, it is.8/10
Lee Eisenberg This deliberately ridiculous paean to 1950s sci-fi/horror flicks hits all the right notes. It takes cues from just about every flick in the genre, with the cast members putting on campy performances (with the aliens speaking the most redundant phrases in the universe), and plainly obvious goofs throughout the whole movie (music that keeps playing even after the characters have distanced themselves from the source). "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra" is clearly a movie that they had fun making, and it's as fun to watch as any space invasion movie from the Formica era. It shows us exactly why we love those cornball flicks. Kitsch lives forever! Are Fay Masterson and Jennifer Blaire hot or what?
qormi Great send up of cheesy 50's horror flicks. I remember going to the matinée in the 50's and early 60's and seeing stuff just as phony. The film supposedly takes place circa 1965, judging by the style of the T- Bird. All of the characters are very funny. The dialogue is priceless. The way they act is just like those characters from 50's sci fi films. The character, "Animala", played by Jennifer Blaire, is very funny. This lady is a very good actress (Trail of the Screaming Foreheads, Dark and Stormy Night) and it's too bad she never really made it big. Then again, it must be very hard to break into the big time these days - look at all the overrated actresses out there - Angelina Jolee, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson, etc. etc. I'm not being sarcastic - I think Jennifer Blaire is better looking and more talented than any of those A-Listers. Anyhow, I digress. The movie was hilarious....watch it!
brechtbug The thing that's funny about "B" movies is their level of sincerity. The directors at the time were trying to make a good or entertaining film. This movie feels like watching an improve comedy group whose friends have told them time and again they are so funny that they don't have to make any effort. "Wow guys, everything you do and say is Hilarious!" Five minutes into this film and you know that's not true. With so many genuinely wonky "B" movies out there why on Earth would anyone feel the need to make a fake one? And now I see they made a sequel in 2009 - terrific. I seriously don't know how drunk you would have to be to watch this and be even remotely entertained. Here's a list of films you should see instead of wallowing through the dull forced nonsense that is Lost Skeleton of Cadavra. Fiend Without a Face 1958 --- Equinox 1970 --- Q - The Winged Serpent 1982 --- Manos: The Hands of Fate 1966 --- Bride of the Monster 1955 --- Plan 9 from Outer Space 1959 --- It Came from Outer Space 1953 --- It! The Terror from Beyond Space 1958 --- The Creeping Terror 1963 --- Cat-Women of the Moon 1953 --- The Stuff 1985 --- Night of the Demon 1957
