This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

I love stories of brutes guys with cute little girls. This movie is this and more. Although it has all the clichés of the genre, the story is performed competently and you create empathy with the characters. The premise is fun. Imagine a womanizer and egocentric guy discover from night to day what he is the father of a child he even know the existence? Only this situation is hilarious enough.Dwayne Johnson and Madison Pettis make a good double and convince in the father-daughter relationship."The Game Plan" is certainly not a film that invents the wheel. But perform competently what it promises: to be a great fun for the whole family. This is no doubt my favorite "Family Movie" ever. I can see it thirty times and never get tired .

The Game Plan (2007): Dir: Alan Fickman / Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Madison Pettis, Kyra Sedgwick, Roselyn Sanchez, Morris Chestnut: A clean yet routine sports comedy about priorities, and our first priority should be to avoid this film at all cost. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays Joe Kingman, a high profile football player who meets the eight year old daughter he never knew he had. Standard setup leads to his struggle to adapt followed to his predictable turn from egotistical to caring father. Directed by Alan Fickman who keeps it clean but that is pretty much it. It certainly doesn't try too hard to be original. The Rock is actually quite amusing and goes beyond the cardboard cut-outs surrounding. Madison Pettis is basically reciting what every other kid who has been in these films have done. She gets in the way yet becomes endearing. Kyra Sedgwick as The Rock's agent fills space that she really needed for a project superior to this. Roselyn Sanchez as Pettis's ballet instructor is as flat as paper. How bored was the pitch idea for this junk? Did the studio honestly believe that having Dwayne Johnson involved in this would somehow make it original? Does it make him look any less idiotic than any other wrestler doing the same family film crap? Talk about bankrupt ideas. The result is a tired retread that proves that the screenwriter had no game plan. Score: 2 ½ / 10

The Game Plan is formulaic, predictable, amiable and and only succeeds with Dwayne Johnson's charm and charisma. Without it that film would be a messy Disney Original movie.Joe Kingman (Johnson) is a star quarterback who has fame and fortune. However a long lost 7 years old daughter, Peyton enters his life, a product from a brief marriage some years ago.Now the the fun loving and partying Kingman has to adjust to life going to plays, ballet classes and kids tea parties. Its an undoubtedly feel good family film as even his teammates who are seemingly unmarried or without children enjoy Peyton's company and like to poke fun at Kingman wrestling with fatherhood. There are enough stunts in the film such as The Rock doing ballet, having water fights, singing Elvis songs which does enough to raise it from immense cheesiness.

This movie was quite good. The Rock's best acting so far I think. I've seen a couple of his movies in the past. This is a very good story plot with many laughs and touching moments as well. Good story, entertaining story line, poignant moments to boot. The musical was pretty good as well. Let's see, manly man, football, self discovery, ballet, Elvis, and love, what more do you want? This is enjoyable family film and for adults. I really appreciated this movie. It is very formulaic movie. It reminds me of Pretty Woman and Disney classics combined into one in terms of cast playing their parts and the two main characters acting quite well and in the end find themselves in love with each other father and daughter. Great movie.
