The characters in the movie make decisions that do not make any sense. The story line is awful. It is not scary at all. Do not see this movie. It is one of the worst horror movies ever. Do not see it. It is really stupid. Do not see it. See Halloween if you want to see a really scary movie. Do not see this.

I've heard some people complain about the poor quality of the copies of this film, but that's one of its finer aspects. And the nighttime scenery in whichever large city this is in. The beautiful pan to the high rise apartment where our hero Dean Turner has taken Jo...then they take us inside where we get a look at Dean's phenomenal bachelor pad. he's got the sweet couch and lighting, a stocked bar in a dark room, and "the ladies room is that way....the bedroom is that way too." And don't forget his hi fi record player with easy listening mood music. I don't care how much this subplot diverges from the main one- it's my favorite part, and it makes you care about these two characters as they are about to get married towards the end. The first we see of the Demon after his opening kill is the hitching scene, which is a cool little dark scene as well....the dialogue is funny small talk "I guess I do go on a bit....." "Even my mother thinks I'm on the other side.." "Hey don't let me scare you" This is a very interesting slasher from a formula standpoint. We are introduced to the victim's parents and Mitchell at the beginning, and all three characters are abandoned later in favor of the schoolteachers... Jennifer Holmes' old neighbor is funny too. A film that you can't miss if you're a horror fan.

While ex-marine turned psychic Bill Carson investigates the abduction and murder of a 14-year old girl, the hulking maniac responsible is busy stalking his next victims, gorgeous 18-year old brunette Jo (Zoli Markey) and her pretty blonde cousin, nursery teacher Mary (Jennifer Holmes).I understand how this film has garnered so many negative reviews—it's cheap-looking, virtually gore-less, way too dark in places, way too slow in others, features far too many inexplicable shots of the ocean crashing over rocks, and stars Cameron Mitchell—not the sort of thing that would appeal to most sane viewers.I, on the other hand, found it to be fun, partly because I've been watching a lot of cruddy horror this October and my tolerance for crap is probably at an all time high, and partly because I like the fact that the film is unpredictable and the true nature of the killer is kept a mystery (we never find out why he wears clawed gloves, yet kills using the old 'polythene bag on the head' trick).Mostly though, I enjoyed the film because the killer's latest intended victims are a couple of hotties who have no qualms about showing some skin: Jo strips off and slips into stockings and suspenders to treat lucky boyfriend Dean (Craig Gardner), giving the viewer an eyeful as she does so, and, during the tense finale, Mary abandons her dressing gown to fool the 'demon' and makes a run for it wearing nothing but a silky pair of knickers.Given the undeservedly poor ratings it's received so far, I'm going to be generous and award The Demon a probably-higher-than-it-really-deserves score of 6.5 out of 10 (rounded up to 7 for IMDb).

After home invasion and kidnapping of a young girl an older couple decides to hire a mystic(Cameron Mitchell)with extrasensory perception to find missing child.There is also demonic strangler on the loose,who kills some victims and stalks a nursery school teacher."The Demon" is "Halloween" clone from South Africa.The climax resembles John Carpenter's dark house stalk with the exception of the Strode-like blonde teacher running topless in panties around the house and locking herself in the bathroom to finally defeat her masked stalker with a pair of scissors."The Demon" is slow-moving and lacks suspense and gore.Still it's watchable enough to give it 6 out of 10.
