Heathonistt i barely speak Italian-only level 1 or 2 at best, plus a little slang, and didn't have subtitles when i watched this film. i found it incredibly easy to understand and laugh-out-loud funny. Films very rarely make me laugh out loud, but i had a huge smile on my face and frequently laughed throughout this film. it's mostly more adult humor, with sexual jokes and gestures, though nowhere near as filthy as American sex comedies like American pie. The love story is a bit cheesy, with the leading lady Catalina always wearing shirts that revealed her cleavage and shorts that.. well, revealed her cleavage. however, there's enough comedy to distract you-from the morbid, artistic brother, to the lesbian sister, to the father who becomes a stoner. great film, recommend to everyone.i'd give it a 10, but i never give out 10s.

Close_The_Door IMDb users outside Italy perhaps don't know that "Il Ciclone" actually made an "explosion" in the 1990's. An almost non-promoted film, which climbed the charts just by word of mouth. The film is based on the uneventful life of a small village of the Tuscan countryside. As any small village, this one has its grocer, its chemist, its fool, its... nymphomaniac. Among the fields, an old man never leaves home but keeps conversations with his townsmen crossing the path in front of his house, by shouting from his window. Actually, passers-by are so rare that this man recognises absolutely everybody by the sound of the engine of their car. But one day, somebody new crosses that path... I still remember my jaws aching at the end of the film, and the whole country taken by a sort of Ciclone-fever -- so many jokes of the film became part of our daily life. A light-hearted masterpiece of comedy. And the voice of the old man is Mario Monicelli's!!!

digitononcogito First of all let me say that I had to think a lot about writing a comment for this movie. The best review for this kind of Cinema can be just the silence. Movie addressed to housewives and to grandmothers. This movie tries to look "genuine" and the characters should be supposed "real people". An Italian could never think that the characters might be "real": they are just "low-profile" stereotypes. It gives a very misguised vision of what life is in the Italian countryside. The plot is weak (plot? which plot?) and the humour does not make laugh anyone older than 12.

Zombie-16 Very, very sweet movie, sweet characters, sweet love story. If you were looking for an Italian version of Twister then you're out of luck, cause I don't think you'll ever find one, if you want some light-hearted entertainment this is the place to look. The jokes in this are actually funny, rather than the slapstick style of some other recent "comedies" (see: There's Something About That Bimbo Cameron Diaz). The settings are beautiful, the acting ain't bad at all, the characters are fun. (Notice that there ARE actual characters in this, as in, they could be real people, not the one-sided stereotypes of There's Something Wrong With This Movie.) Really, it's much funnier than a lot of those dopey two-hour come shots disguised as "comedy movies" you stupid Americans keep churning out. Viva Italiana!
