Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film

SnoopyStyle John Shepherd (Chuck Norris) is a private investigator with a heart of gold. One day, he runs across attempted kidnap victim Elizabeth Teller (Joanna Pacula). She and her uncle Issac (Bernie Kopell) are expert gem cutters. Dirk (Daniel Bernhardt) is a murderer and raided an archaeological dig in the Sinai desert. He stole the Breastplate of Aaron from the dig, and kidnaps Issac to do a specific cut on the gems in the breastplate.This is a pretty good movie if it was made in the late 80s. Chuck Norris, Joanna Pacula, Bernie Kopell, and Tracy Scoggins are great blast from the past. The action is explosive enough ... for the 80s. The fact is movie making has moved on. It's not like Chuck has gotten any better as an actor. He doesn't have the same moves as his younger self. This is no more than a relatively good B-movie.

Dave from Ottawa 60ish Chuck Norris plays a retired cop and finder of abducted persons in this paint by numbers 1985 action flick which had the bad luck to have been made in 2005. Seriously, it was as if the creators were either blissfully or wilfully unaware that twenty years of cinema had passed under the bridge. Did somebody win an old Chuck Norris script in a storage locker auction and decide to shoot the thing? The generic looking vehicle chases and punch-ups would have been nothing special back in the days of Good Guys Wear Black, but coming in the wake of modern action opuses like The Matrix they seem downright anachronistic, like somebody starting a Nascar race in a Stutz Bearcat. Even the bad guys - an incognito Nazi war criminal and a black clad soldier of fortune seem badly dated.At least the producers had the good taste to give Chuck age-appropriate female friends (Joanna Pakula and Tracy Scoggins); watching younger actresses cozy up to sexagenarian Chuck would have been just too icky.

Jors Matthys (haakigen) I'm not really sure whether this film is meant to be taken serious or not. Anyways i found found it very enjoyable to watch, because it really made me laugh at times.If the idea however was to create a proper action film then the director and actors somewhat failed.It's not that the action itself isn't realistic. Which is of course to be expected with Chuck Norris in the main role. The bare knuckle fights are intense but not otherworldly (and since both the chuck and his enemy know martial arts you know it's real) and when somebody gets shot in the chest he/she simply dies. However I can't say the same for the acting, which is for the greatest part very unnatural.No one seams to be shocked by death or violence particularly Chuck who even jokes about it.It seems like this man only has two expressions, being smiling and a neutral face. And that's what makes the film.The bad guy was also amusing, you wouldn't need to see him go wrong to know he's the villain.His looks, his gestures and black hair betray him. If you watch this film in good company and don't try to take it serious you won't regret it.

ofp857 it looks like this movie cost ten dollars to make. I love chuck but damn! this is so cheesy. the camera work sucks, its bad folks. the editing, you name it. what really worries me is the same producing team and company is working on Rambo 4. oh no! avi Lerner eh? looks like we have the next Golan globus. man even they hired better directors! there is no way this cost ten mil to make. that may have been chucks pay. the movie the perfect weapon was probably made for just about the same amount of money when that came out and that looked 100 times better than this movie. chuck! please do something with better film makers.oh and what sucks is that whenever he encounters a bad guy, hmm he just happens to know martial arts too??? and oh man, the close ups were killing me. the one extreme close up on Tracy scoggins' face were really bad! those wrinkles! oy vey
