Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.

It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

I just purchased this off Amazon for an amazing price. I was really excited to see this because of Adam Baldwin and I was not disappointed with his role! I loved watching him out of his usual gruff and tough mode playing an enthusiastic and kind history teacher with slight PTSD from Vietnam and a sketchy past. He did a terrific job. Mid movie he gives an amazing speech to the class about Vietnam. The entire cast was good.I felt the movie cut away from important scenes too fast, even though the clues to Liza's mystery become more and more obvious as the story progresses. It was like walking in on a scene where explanations were already given, so I had to rewind a few times to get the full brunt of them. And what I thought would be some very important turning points, were brushed right past. The ending was a little disappointing. W/O a spoiler, I expected something more heartfelt, especially after the sweet and dramatic scene with actress Linsey Godfrey (Liza) and Adam. It could've ended right there. But I would've appreciated a certain conversation between Mr. Clemens and Liza, and a reunion of sorts, etc. - Not "Glee" or "High School Musical." But to be fair, music ties in to the characters. All in all this was enjoyable. There should be more family films made in this vein. If you are looking for a clean film with good values then watch it. And definitely check it out if you're a fan of Adam Baldwin.
