I love this movie so much

Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.

THE ANSWER might be advertised as a science fiction thriller but it turns out to be an indie romance with a few sci-fi touches here and there. The story is slow and sedate and the acting of a forgettable standard, featuring young actors with little discernable ability. The male protagonist is brutalised and follows a clue trail to find out who's hunting him. This film looks okay but there's very little real content.

Had no real hope that this low budget, first time directed, movie would be anything good but I was pleasantly surprised - mostly...The romantic side to this was not just your standard main actor love interest, it was a good blend of action\romance and a little Sci-Fi. No real major special effects here but it didn't need them for the story it was telling and it told it pretty well - flowed well and well acted by the main two actors. Some of the fight scenes were very poor though, I could see what the director wanted to achieve by doing it that way but really didn't work. Not really recommended if you want either a proper romance or in depth Sci-Fi, no really gripping suspense or riveting action here - but worth a watch if you just want something light where you don't need to concentrate too much!

Shot on location in Danville VA, this movie is better than most Sci-Fi mystery movies on the market. Bridd Cole leads a mundane life, getting up at 7am, going to work, delivering mail and being bashful when it come to temp employee Charlotte. Bridd's powers make an appearance when best bud Trent steps away from his desk during a Stock Trade. Bridd's "powers" allow him to perfectly select a trade that makes the company clients a great deal of money and gets Trent a nice size portfolio as a bonus. Trent is aware of Bridd's powers and wants him to use them to their benefit. Bridd declines as he's not the type to do that sort of thing. A brief encounter with Charlotte in the supply room gives Bridd another chance to showcase his powers. When a 20yo package is finally delivered, things get really interesting. The contents resemble a hand-held game system. Bridd ignores it and proceeds with his mundane life. He gets a date with Charlotte that leads to them going on the run, when they return to his house, find it trashed and unexpected visitors hiding in the shadows. Even worse, their boss is dead on the floor in Bridd's house. The visitors are dressed in Cat Burglar Attire with Motorcycle Helmets. Trent is the 2nd victim of the visitors. The Leader (David S. Lee) barely speaks, yet conveys so much in his actions. Bridd and Charlotte partake in a bit of a scavenger hunt to get details on what is happening and why. Bridd has to climb onto a library shelf to reach the next device in the hunt. yet, when he removes it from the book encasing it, Charlotte merely puts the book back on the top of the shelves. She's the same height as Bridd and therefore should have had to climb on the shelf as he did. It becomes clear The Leader is out to create hybrids on Earth. The question of why isn't revealed until the climax. Bridd learning how to use his powers to aid in their battle against The Leader is akin to watching Rain Man. Bridd can recall in detail things he's literally only seen for few seconds. Watch his eyes when he's attacked. They glow when he's "fully charged" and can hit back as hard as Superman. This first comes to light in the library when he has to take on one of The Leader's Cronies. The Cronies carry razor sharp double edged curved knives which can cut through skin and bone like a hot knife through butter. Apparently, Bridd and his kind are potent, because one night with him and Charlotte is preggers. The Leader needs Bridd's blood because as purebreds, they cannot breathe in Earth's atmosphere, hence the helmets. There are loose ends which permit a sequel. Considering one of the Cronies disappeared with a vial of Bridd's blood and there is a little one on the way, I'd like to see a sequel to this movie. I gave it a 7/10 because it wasn't campy, overly dramatic or too techy to follow. It had an even balance of sci-fi, mystery, romance and comedy. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes invasion movies.

The Answer is a very low budget sci-fi movie but is capable of keeping the tension all the time while mixing an unlikely love story with an alien persecution (by other aliens). Bridd is shy person working as a mail delivery within an office; he tries to be unnoticed; but he is aware of his photographic memory and his mental (and sometimes physical) speed capable of understanding complex financial sequences in seconds or executing actions like dodging a bullet. One day at the office he meets Charlotte; a free spirited girl and both sync. However that same day; all their acquaintances get killed but some masked people and they are being persecuted while try to find out why. While the story is somewhat predictable; there is pretty good pace; plus the two main characters are far from perfect but likable enough to get you worried about. Both Austin Hébert and Alexis Carra delivers very good performances and a nice chemistry. The end is perhaps a little weak and rushed; but your are able to enjoy 90% of a very good movie anyway.
