First of all: This is not Matrix and it hasn't quite near the budget. But! that doesn't matter! It's a very well-done Sci-Fi-Movie with a really cool story. In the first part you're like what the hell is going on. I was really surprised how purely this movie is rated in this data base. So i read some Reviews from users who said it is about average and the main critic they have is poor acting and poor fights. I can't agree. The fight-style is somewhat strange street-fighting, but absolutely OK. The actors are good. And the story is awesome. Yeah, there might be a time near the end of the movie when i thought OK now we could make a better step, but overall "The Anomaly" is pretty good. It's much like Matrix, but more atmosphere like in Equilibrium. Both movies are better than this one but slightly. You have to see that this is still a low-budget film and for that it's great! Don't expect perfection, but i absolutely enjoyed this Sci-Fi-Puzzle!

This film has an interesting premise when you look back at it. Ryan only has 10 minutes to wake up and do anything before falling into someone else. What isn't clear until the end of the movie is that these time increments are not ALWAYS a year apart. The first time it happens he wakes up on June 7th a year later. This seemed interesting. The problem is that throughout the movie the increment between awakenings varies. Not a problem but there's no hint of how much time has passed and it leaves the viewer assuming each gap was as long as the first gap. Needless to say it isn't.As a "punchy punchy fighty fighty" film I thought it was OK. It's not the frantic perfection that is say a Eastern Martial Arts film staring Jet Li or Tony Jaa or Jackie Chan but the fights felt visceral, even if the director did love the dance-movie-camera-shake-on-impact. The fights felt realistic enough.I would have liked to have seen the writing reworked. The conclusion was satisfying but the overall premise of the antagonists is similar to the hit UK show Utopia. Or it could have been had they reworked their motivations to make it a little more clear.

After seeing the movie and reading the reviews I can say that some comments are fair to this film. The premise is very much lifted from Total Recall and Memento with an amnesiac finding out who he is and why he's in the locations he wakes up in. The movie really falls apart as it really should have been produced on a much bigger budget. Doing this on a small budget results in little sets, sparse actors & extras plus limited CGI. This results in the audience being constantly underwhelmed by scenarios and situations that should really be a wow factor. Fight scenes for example seem to be there mostly to fill time and are slowed down for supposed effect but really they show just poor choreography.Noel is not actually a very good actor to be fair so this is more a vanity project as another reviewer pointed out. The ending of the movie was very trite and clumsy but to be honest, a lot of the movie was that. To summarise, a big budget movie done on a small budget results in the feeling of being let down.

The acting in this film is the most wooden I have seen since the worst film ever made, "Aurora" - I challenge anyone to sit through all of that! The fighting scenes in the film are, and I am hesitant to use this word as I don't want to offend anyone, but it is the only word that fits - gay. Some of the lamest fighting scenes I have ever seen. The strange thing is, the film itself thinks it's cool as it adds the speed up, slow down, move the camera around tactics of some bigger budget films, but in this film that only serves to highlight how truly wooden the entire film is! The script is just dire. However! The subject matter behind the film is rather interesting and poignant and an interesting reflection of today's controlled society.
