Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

A young boy, left without attention, delves into a life of petty crime. The 400 Blows or also known as 'Les Quatre Cents Coups' is once again another movie that never reaches whatever potential it could reach but also wastes it's time with a character that wasn't much interesting to begin with and as i have reached slowly the end of the Top 250 i find myself disappointed with the movies that IMDb has selected to put on their list unlike some truly amazing movies that truly have big potentials as a whole and we get movies like this for some reason. Film Review: "Les quatre cents coupes" (1959) - Giving an initial screening at the 12th edition of Cannes Film Festival, Director François Truffaut (1932-1984) presents his feature debut to non-surprising critical acclaim due to the daring camera movements on a low-budget independent production, also solely helmed by the director, who from the start reveals himself as a dreamer of the unreal to such an extent that leading character Antoine, perfectly cast by Jean-Pierre Léaud as Truffaut's alter ego as a 12-year-old. The love for cinema becomes evident in any scene of picture. Further a deep understanding of the sensual transcendence of picture and sound in motion picture, making the character of Antoine a undeniable identifiable cinematic figure with constant struggle of finding a place to indulge life itself, which gets fulminate concluded in runaway scene of misunderstandings by parents, teachers, governmental authorities and teenager at school all-round, which stroke the nerve of any spectator, who gets immediately thrown into his own past as a child; a circumstance any living human being has in-common. The power of origins are penetrated by DNA, which cannot be reverted, letting François Truffaut become the filmmaking story-teller, sharer of emotions that found his fulfillment in the interviews, conducted in 1966, with Thriller director Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980), exposed an exchange of thoughts on Cinema, which solved the necessities of any motion picture of any genre produced to impact an audience with human emotion; an all-time must-see from the 1950s.© 2017 Felix Alexander Dausend (Cinemajesty Entertainments LLC)

Greetings from Lithuania. At the first hour running time "The 400 Blows" (1959) was a very good coming of age story. Later, at the last 40 min. it suddenly became something more brilliant.I really enjoyed this movie from start till finish. Acting by Jean- Pierre Léaud who played Antoine was phenomenal in my opinion, definitely one of the very best child actor performances I've seen. Script was superb, which like i said first of all was a very good coming of age story and later it become something more - sad, heartbreaking and the one which leaves you thinking about what you have seen for many more days. And the last scene at the beach was simply unforgettable.Overall, "The 400 Blows" (or "To Raise hell") is a great movie. Terrific script and directing with an amazing lead performance and superb supporting cast, this is a movie which is hard to forget and impossible not to admire.

Through this film, I got an idea of the beautiful old French town and of the life that children lived mid-20th century. How many psychological problems evident in this canvas ... Looking at it I realize how many create one psychologist and psychiatrist profession for half a century ... I'm sure we lucky to be born in the current years, and our children are lucky more, and even more grandchildren. Let's think about what role can play this pattern, if it is to watch most of the people of the future: - For a positive effect, it is necessary to show in the ripened age, then people will be able to sympathize with the previous generations ... - It can be seen in the infinite power of the unconscious and desire for freedom ... - Our desire to deeply pledged to go beyond and take the life under our cap.
