TEEN SORCERY is another straight-to-video slice of cheesiness from Full Moon's Romanian studio, here masquerading as a typical US high school. The story is similar to THE CRAFT and the like, with witchcraft abounding in the high school setting and being used to combat rivalry, bitchiness, and bullying. Truth be told it's an entirely low budget production without much in the way of merit, just cheesy special effects and limited acting.

This is a DIRECT TO VIDEO film, tells a cute and entertaining story about a teen girl (A J Cook) who is new in a small suburb and she gets new friends in her new high school but also will know Mercedez, a mean cheerleader but later, she and her friends will discover that Mercedez has superpowers and it's witch, the rest of the story is based, in fact, in the classic SLEPPING BEAUTY.This is a really enjoyable film, i don't know why a lot of people hate it, the acting is good and even when could be a low budget film, the special effects are really good. What is the problem with all the haters? This is a great film DIRECT TO DVD, well directed and well done, if you really want to see bad films, just check those bad Mexican films that Mexican industry always release or just check those stupid TV movies that Disney Channel release since 2002 (Cause the early Disney Channel films were better) Even Disney Channel would want to make enjoyable and cute films like this one in the present.Don't read the bad reviews, this is a good and entertaining film, give it a chance.

This movie is just bad enough to make me stay away. I caught it on cable not too long ago, and was pulled in by the title. But the cheesy acting, blatant reuse of scenery, subplots that went nowhere, and painfully bad one-liners make this one bad movie that I'll probably not watch again. My first warning sign was that many of the crew members in the opening credits had Romanian names. I guess the budget was so tight that they had to fly all of the actors to a 3rd world Eastern European country to film. The movie takes place in the manufactured town of Pilgrimtown, MA. And how manufactured it is. Every sign in the town looks as if it were hastily made at a copy and print center and pasted over signs that were already there. AJ Cook's presence definitely lit up the screen. She doesn't deserve to be a B/C-list actress.

"Are You Afraid of the Dark?" called - they want their ideas back.
But seriously, if "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and "Goosebumps" could be somehow merged to make just one single hour and a half movie, you would get Teen Sorcery. I came across this movie tonight on cable and was initially pulled in because I noticed A.J Cook (who I love) was in it. I always seem to accidentally come across Cook's movies on late night t.v out of nowhere - and man, has she ever done some of the worst of the worst. Teen Sorcery just adds to the pile along with Wishmaster 2 and Ripper (although her acting in Ripper was good enough to keep me watching).Anyways, if your not a fan of stereotypical snobby cheerleaders, corny special effects, unrealistic witchcraft, and biotches turning into dragons, I suggest you stay clear of this movie! Includes a few "roll your eyes" laughs, but not worth it in my opinion.
