Take Care Audience Reviews

Nonureva Really Surprised!
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
suite92 Initial Tableau: Frannie has been in an auto accident. She broke an arm and a leg. She gets incomplete help from her sister and friends. After too much of that, she appeals to 'the devil'; that is, her ex, Devon. Devon contracted cancer some years back, and Frannie had cared for him for two years until he was cured. So she gives him a sufficient guilt trip...and he acquiesces. His new girlfriend is not exactly understanding.Delineation of Conflicts: Frannie's friends do not trust Devon. Devon wants to get rid of the guilt debt. Devon's new girlfriend wants his fairly tenuous relationship with Frannie to end as soon as possible. Devon's feelings of gratitude are a bit limited, but Frannie's sense of being owed (big time) is even larger than she thought, especially when she expounds on all the things she did for him. Frannie and Devon get the opportunity to be honest with each other, which was not fun for them, but changes everything. As time progresses, Devon spends more, rather than less, time with Frannie. How is his new girlfriend going to take that?Comments: I usually do not care for studies in awkwardness, and this is no exception. Still, the film has a beginning, a middle, and an end. The exposition of motivations was probably its strong point. At least this one made some sense.
fireworksness My grandmother chose this movie at random on Netflix and it caught my attention in the first few minutes, I usually ignore whatever movies she had playing in the background by we both loved it.This movie started out slow but gradually became sweeter and sweeter and I genuinely wanted to know what would happen to each character. I am so pleased with the dialogue and how it ended and if you need a feel-good movie, this is the one for you.The leading man is very attractive and has a wonderful smile that brightened up my TV screen and I wish I could see more of him on my TV!It was well done and I am curious as to why there is not more reviews, comments and information about this film online.I would highly recommend.
tiffanyyatesmartin As one other reviewer said, I was expecting a more heavily emotional plot line from the description, but should have known that this movie would be as fun, clever and cute as it is, since it was penned (and directed) by Liz Tuccillo, who writes about relationships better than just about anyone. Great chemistry between leads Bibb and Sadoski--in fact, all the actors do a great job. This story is like a microcosm of a relationship--the entire film takes place mostly in Frannie's (Bibb) claustrophobic NYC fourth-floor walk-up, a perfect metaphor for how trapped she is after a car accident keeps her bedridden for weeks. The best things about the film: the unexpected freshness of the character development and plot, the charm of the leads, the whip-crack dialogue. As a couple of reviewers said, not a weighty or convoluted story, but a really lovely examination of human nature and the nature of love. I smiled most of the way through, laughed out loud a lot, and was left thinking about the movie after it finished
Moviegoer19 ...especially if you like "relationship movies." I really enjoyed this film. I found the writing and plot to be quite clever. The acting too was excellent. Often indie romance films don't quite make it. They're filled with stereotypes and wind up being boring and predictable. Not "Take Care." In this film, a woman is immobilized by a broken arm and leg and is determined to be independent. At the same time, she needs help just to get some of the basics of daily living taken care of. Her well meaning but insufferable sister is there but clearly doesn't want to be. Her good friend gets sidetracked by her own problems. Then Frannie, the MC, remembers that she took care of her ex for two years while he had cancer. She calls upon him to repay the favor. OK, what happens between them is somewhat predictable, but how they get there is fun to watch, and very engaging.
