The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

I love Stephen Lynch and "Live at the El Ray" is great for guests. He is flipping hilarious and one of the better comedians I have seen in years. He is up there with George Carlin, Dennis Leary, Bill Hicks and of course Robin Williams. The great thing that makes him different is that he uses music to perform his comedy, which I find very few comedians can do well or have the talent to do so. Not for the easily offended so if you want to show this to friends/family make sure they have an open mind about religion, the mentally/physically disabled or really any topic you can think of. He has no bounds and will push society's buttons!! Check out "Craig", "Talk to me", and "Special Olympics" in you have never seen/heard his comedy before!!!!

Mr Lynch is in good form on this one. With some of his funniest classics and several new songs, he will make you laugh until you get sick. The intro is pretty funny too. Some of the extras are a bit boring or maybe i just watched them too soon after watching the actual show, i'm not sure. This is one of those things I wish I could have seen live, I have seen Lynch live and he is the best live show (as far as comedic) I have seen. If you find this DVD anywhere....pick it up, buy it, steal it, or trade a family member for it. If you don't see it, look online.
