Kidskycom It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

bmaschi I'll give this a couple stars for the attempt. It was fun to see so many of the old cast and the general idea was solid. But I also found the film's direction to be disingenuous and even hypocritical.There was a right-wing libertarian philosophy built into the script and that would have been a slap in the face to the original Star Trek creator – Gene Rodenberry, who was a socialist (the opposite of a right-wing libertarian). From the near-opening dialogue about the 'needs of the many' to a starship captain named Galt, the politics were subtle, but there. Galt, btw, was the main character in wacky libertarian Ayn Rand's novel: Atlas Shrugged.Libertarians aren't creative enough to make up their own pop-culture so they need to try and co-opt everyone else's, insisting on a sickening revisionism of original intents. Star Trek is all about a peaceful and cooperative exploration of space whereas libertarians would prefer it being a competitive, you-lose-I-win, universe where the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition are the new Prime Directives.

pvisi This is a super bad film named Star Trek. The few actors from earlier shows gives you the level what you expect after Start Trek series and films. But the rest... Bad acting. Bad CGIs-means super bad, like made by a 5 years old. Bad photography, really bad camera sets. Bad story-telling and no character developing.It's like made by The Asylum studio but it's not. (Who does not know that studio, they made all the Sharknado films.)I was suffering during the whole film for the higher purpose to tell my honest opinion about it if I already decided to watch despite the signs. For all the real fans who really likes Star Trek universe, this is my last warning: AVOID AT ALL COST.

Thomas Solway This is the problem with unaffiliated projects doing Star Trek, the end result is drivel like this. The production values are low budget cable TV level, which you could forgive if the acting wasn't also painful to watch. Apparently, the Federation council, Starfleet Command, and all of starfleet's officers have somehow become useless prigs, and only Section 31 has the moral authority to save the universe. Yes, Section 31, the amoral arm of the federation, is the moral authority now, that should tell you all you need to know. They will do this with a band of criminals that in classic Hollywood fashion will immediately become good guys and somehow save the day. Don't bother watching this, and certainly don't give them any more money to produce more of this filth. Let's await Axanar, which if the trailer is any indication, will be significantly better.

Paul CF Came across this movie by accident. Watched it, interesting, with some really good actors but it is 'stilted' in dialogue and action. It has promise (in future releases) and shows how alternate methods of funding can bring a movie to the big screen. It has potential to go far if the production values are polished up and the actors a bit more polished and less 'forced'. It seems/appears that this could be the first in a series of these movies. It does try to introduce too much from the world and work of Star Trek and I wish it had held back a bit for sake of movie "flow".All in all a great concept and idea, I hope they continue to release more titles!
