It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.

I really like the part where the girl in the relationship is asked by her brother "Are you sleeping with the enemy"? The "ENEMY"...?!?! You know what...FU** you, the horse you rode in on, and everything about you.Just more mindless, liberal, millennial mush-brained BS

This is a great movie! So typical of the dating world of "Good" African American women looking for a "Good" man to love and love her. I loved how this movie gave light to stepping outside the box. Not only with race, but new things; thinking, adventure. So many times, we get caught up trying to be "acceptable," trying to be what and who we think we should be and miss out on the real beauty of life, love and who we really are. I can go on and on about all the things this movie brought to light; the reality, but I must say it is awesome, and a reminder to me of what's really important. I have witnessed women "selling out" to what we think is ideal and acceptable and live in misery because of all the needs we lack; the attention, the true love, just to have that black man who believe is Mr. Right. Even Kenya's girl in the movie ventured out and fell for a chef. He wasn't her typical suit wearing professional, "on her level," at first sight, but they hit it off, he was good at what he did; loved it and loved her. This is an eye opener for African American women, and I hope my sisters realize that Mr. Perfect is really Mr. Perfect with his minor imperfections (note: verbal and physical abuse among some other things are considered major), but thinking more on the lines of "list preferences" 10 out of 10 is not always or usually "the one."

This movie is the most insulting film to black men since Griffith's "Birth of a Nation". It is unbelievable to me that this was even made it today's world. I could give two craps if a black women dates, marries, or gets banged in the ass by a white man but how dare this writer & director portray black men the way they do. The black men in this film are over sexed driven jerk headed creep jobs. The one so called perfect Black man played by Blair Underwood is so creepy ANY woman would run from. I have 4 sisters who are smart and college educated who are married to 4 good black men who don't compare to any of the black me in this crap show. I am a black educated NON-CREEP normal man and this film really offended me because it makes it seem there are no options for Black Women and this just isn't true. Black men have enough problems in this country, we don't need crap propaganda like this out there to make things worse. And what the hell??? A Black High society cotillion, I don't think so!

This movie was so wonderfully cute.I found it very real. This film does not preach the "joys" of interracial dating, but gives the watcher the true nature of what dating and finding love should be. It shows how the constraints that family , those around us , society and even ourselves can keep one from from finding happiness. It tells the story of a woman who finally frees herself of those constraints to find true love and happiness. A very good lesson for love and life. One of the best lessons that the protagonist Kenya learns , is that you may get the "Perfect" guy, (as in the Blair Underwood character), but that those ideals of perfection get lost when the feelings JUST AREN'T THERE.This movie is a wonderful story of love, romance, and letting go of certain strong ideals, so one can find everything one ever wanted.
