This is just one of many memorable films that were made back then that continues to bring back joyful memories for me. Growing up, we used to watch Family Classics with Frazier Thomas on WGN TV in Chicago. This was one of the best family oriented programs on television back in the early 60s, at least in my view. I would make sure the channel was tuned in each Sunday evening to see what great gems they were showing that day and this film was one of them. It has made an indelible impression of joyous and heartwarming emotion on my mind and in my heart. I second the comment concerning bring it to DVD and I would gladly pay the asking price for it just to share it with my children.

From a mailing list I'm on ... "There is a film buff from San Francisco, Sid Bloomberg, who DOES have SNOWFIRE available for sale in both DVD and VHS formats. (Sorry, it's apparently not available in either PAL or SEC format.) The price - shipping and handling included - is $38.00. So for all those HORSE-SENSE subscribers who are still in search of SNOWFIRE: Here is Mr. Bloomberg's web site, which includes his contact information: http://www.blsinc.com/rarefilms.htm" I have never seen the movie myself so I don't know how good or bad it is. I just figured I would share this info with those that are crazy about the movie SNOWFIRE.

Hi- I was 5 years old when I saw this movie with my mom and brother. My mom used to sing this song a lot ( esp when she was cooking). Of all the movies that we saw together, this is the one that we enjoyed the most together. Both my mom and brother have since passed away, but the memories of our time together enjoying this film will never pass for me. When i saw a five minute clip on you tube of this movie a few days ago (9/09), I was united with my youth with my mom and brother in spirit. No other movie could have done that like Snowfire. I wish people could see this joyous movie and feel what I feel. It's a shame that a movie like this isn't on DVD/tape for kids to see.

I've been looking for a release of this for the last few years as well. Even though this was the story of a young girl, and I was a little boy, I still loved it. If anyone knows who we need to contact to encourage such, please post it here so we can all see it. This was a great film. I looked forward to it each year on Family Classics here in Chicago. It was always one of my favorite movies. It's been so long that I don't even remember too much about the plot, other than that I loved watching it. I now have a 10 year old son that I'd like to share this movie with. It's too bad VCR's weren't available when this was being broadcast :-( . Hopefully someone out there can find a copy and make it available to those of us who love it.
