Murphy Howard I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

ritera1 No pun intended.You can't deny there was some very good film making and acting in this, separate from the obvious cheap and garish porn elements.But the porn elements destroyed any sort of credibility.Now he must be a prude. A Republican. A religious sort. No.But I do think this rests all on opinion.I have no problem with homosexuality. They deserve equal rights. End of story. I do think that gay cinema does reflect an opinion of mine: Gays are persecuted for their sexuality. Thus, to fight back they are going to turn the sexuality up to 50. They are going to display sexuality in a form far beyond their comfort level or natural inclinations.Thus, I thought this was incredibly pretentious. Sure, I could have turned it off at any time. My argument is that I want to give a film a chance.The characters are incredibly damaged and dysfunctional and I think the actors are, too (based on watching the making of segment). They are fixated on living their life under the one umbrella of one element of life. Just like being black is not the beginning and end of life for people who happen to be black, then the sexuality of a person is not their entire life. To let it out of its box lets it run rampant.Again, this comes from my own opinion. I don't see what purpose it serves and distracts from the human elements of the story to shove pornography in the audiences faces. It's off-putting. (It's like saying strip clubs are therapeutic.)People are people and everyone is equal. But this depicted homosexuals and people addicted to their sexuality in a very bad light (and that's from a tree-huggin' liberal).

Cyma_Rizwaan_Khan SHORTBUS is very inappropriately tagged as a comedy. In reality, it is a rather depressing tale of the lives of ordinary people. People who are constantly on the lookout for love, and who find themselves questioning the very existence of it. The film explores the confusing boundary between love and lust, and how it affects our lives.A warning for the faint of heart: the movie is VERY explicit. If you can get past that, you will get to see the story of people who are being sucked into the spiral of life and sex. From the very first shot of the film to the last, it is a piece of art.My favorite was Paul Dawson's portrayal of the melancholic 'James' who, even though he loves his incredibly loving partner, can't seem to find happiness in his life. If you are in the mood to watch a unique and truly touching movie which rings true and melts your heart, this is the one to choose. You won't be disappointed.

cwilson-46 This movie was a little strange at times and other times, I couldn't pull my eye's away and had to back it up a few times to see the scene again.A lot of people will tell you that this is a gay porn film - this is further from the truth. The only reason they say this is because for the first time, there is male frontal nudity and not only that - aroused male frontal nudity. I think this is the first movie I've seen, with the exception of Hard On - that I have seen a hard penis and not only that - a hard penis cum. In this movie you will see two guys cum. One, very dramatically and will probably make you very hot and another one in which, if every man in the world could do it - would do. But the implications of him doing this to himself is too much to handle - because there is a whole lot more going on there that meets the eye.The only thing in this picture that truly turned me off was the stalker guy and who he turned out to really be and work for. And also the fact he claimed he wasn't gay, but in the next frame was boinking the lead guy and boinking the third wheel (watch the movie and you will understand). Classic.All in all, I will watch this movie again, and only for the great story behind all of the hard ding dongs in this picture. Trust me, there is a lot more sex going on with girl on guy in this picture also - check out the orgy scene. Only one gay couple in a room full of straight men and women doing it. I think a lot of straight people were turned off by this movie because of the hard penises, because they are so used to movies having breast and other women parts coming on scene every 5 seconds.Buy this movie on DVD and watch it at home with an open mind. You will come away feeling really uplifted and maybe - a little hot for your partner.
