Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
adonis98-743-186503 A simple Chinese immigrant wages a perilous war against one of the most powerful criminal organizations on the planet. San suk si gin is not one of Jackie Chan's best movies but it's one of the very few ones where he chooses to show his acting skills and tries a more dramatic role than usual since most of his films are comedy and action this one is more of drama/thriller and the 3rd act is easily the best one it has a bit more action and suspense into it and it really paid of as for the rest of the film it's good too it's just that certain things could have been better for example the pacing and one of the characters turns kind of a jerk. It tells a really good message and thanks to a powerful performance by Jackie Chan i'm going to give this film an 8/10
Jordache Wee An excellent film of survival in a foreign land. This is as realistic as anyone who crosses the border of a new place. Jackie Chan not only did not do his regular gimmicks, he didn't even have his kungfu acts to defend or fight against the yakuzas.Again, I think he portrayed a realistic character. Involves brotherhood and trust. However this is not exactly a triad film though they involves many different parties. It's like how to survive in a foreign land with nothing and at what cost will you sacrifice to obtain a better living.Excellent film that you need to watch.
Wizard-8 There are signs here and there that "The Shinjuku Incident" got some inspiration from the American remake of "Scarface", with its illegal immigrant hero rising in organized crime as well as an under siege climax. However, the majority of the movie does its own thing in its own style, and ends up being a very entertaining movie. Jackie Chan doesn't do comedy or martial arts here, instead acting very seriously. And he actually does a decent job, making his character somewhat sympathetic despite breaking a lot of laws along the way. The movie also gives great insight into parts of Japanese and Chinese society you probably haven't seen in a movie before. Overall, this is a good movie provided you know what kind of movie you're going to get - this is a serious drama and not an action romp. I did have a couple of minor quibbles, however. First, quite often the cinematography is not very attractive - big sections of the movie have an unattractive yellow tinge to them. Second, the movie runs a bit too long. I'm not saying the movie ever gets boring, but I think the movie would have run better had things been tightened just a little.
tigerstar154 Shinjuku IncidentI am a big Jackie Chan, no doubt about that. I read about this movie as it was Jackie's first "dramatic" role. I saw this movie and i thought not good not bad but ehhh.Jackie Chan Plays Steel Head, a poor immigrant who goes to Japan in search of his Fiancé.The Pluses: GREAT depiction of Japan, Jackie Chan using his fighting skills, the girl Lily and the Yakuza members. The overall message of togetherness. The Minuses: Kinda dramatic, its gets gory to the end. Sad ending. Leave it at thatOverall, Shinjuku Incident is a good movie but has its bad. watch it for Jackie Chan.
