swedzin I don't remember that the first "Screamers" screamed for a sequel that much. Although the movie ends like that, in a way… but still, it was a good movie and did not require a sequel. "Screamers 2" was just the waste of time and money.A group of unfunny, not that interesting soldiers are sent to Sirius 6-B to investigate SOS signal. There they discover a group of people hiding and surviving from Screamers, robots equipped with a blade. So they have to stick together to survive. A member of team is Lt. Victoria Bronte, a daughter of commander Joe Hendrickson (Peter Weller from the first film)… although, he didn't mention his daughter in previous film, only his wife. Bronte still wants to find out what happened to her father. The movie is just typical cliché, people, who are basically a meat, are sent to a meat grinder and there goes a merry gore scenes. No character development, nothing interesting happens, predictable… not even Lance Henriksen who appears as a guy who designed Screamers… of course, it has to be a guy who already did played android and also appeared in Terminator movie… I don't recommend this movie… watch it if you are curious enough.

socceralex16 Most reviewers rip a movie like its the worst movie ever even though its not. Is this the worst movie ever, no. Can you watch it start to finish, sure. But should you? Well, id say no. Yes this is a bad movie, and a lot of that has to do with plot. The writers had to give a reason to return to this planet, but the reason given is bad. The way literally every person dies is rather stupid, and the ending was awful. Most of the writing, the plot, and the dialogue just doesn't make sense. The characters don't do anything that makes sense. Watch this only if your a fan of the first and are curious how bad they could mess it up, which is basically why i watched it. And if thats not the case, then im sure there has to be something else you can do for and hour and half better than watching this movie.

fireblazer666 I saw the original Screamers (1995) when I was 11 years old. Though I admit both the old and new have their flaws, they were both entertaining movies. This one had updated graphics, nice CGI. Not the greatest acting in the world but definitely enough to keep the movie entertaining. Some people pride themselves on everything having to be too perfect. In my opinion this movie has everything it needs. An attractive woman as the main character, action, intrigue, mystery, and even a couple twists. It is a somewhat predictable movie, but entertaining nevertheless. I have it 8/10 because A.) Gina is very attractive. B.) Action. C.) I loved the original and it was great to see a sequel. D.) The ending!

lost-in-limbo I thought the original sleeper 'Screamers (1995) (with Peter Weller) was an agreeable, if unspectacular sci-fi thriller, which at the base had an intriguing story but this cheaper and straight to DVD fare doesn't do anything out of the ordinary but to stew up the same get-up linked together by a bunch of uninspired ideas and devices. The background of these deadly creations doesn't pull you in anymore and the throwaway script could've done a lot more than the predictable situation we found the story opts for. The sub-standard special effects were reasonably catered for such a production, they weren't great nor were they terrible. Even with its crisp look, better than expected performances (led by a stern Gina Holden and a small part for Lance Henriksen) and some bloody pulp (with some very vicious attacks). However it did lack a relentless sense of paranoid intensity for any of the thrills to work and made the pace completely haggard. Every now and then I would check the timer on the DVD player and to my surprise it was going to be a drag… a real slow viewing. Tell me, you couldn't see that sudden revelation coming too? As it is, 'The Hunting' is a bland b-movie which makes you appreciate the original even more.
