Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

I've been looking forward to watching this for a while and i finally got round to it. At first i was a little unsure, thinking it might be sick for the sake of it, but i soon found myself gripped in the story, both my friend and I where shouting at the screen. The ending was a surprise, not what i expected, and fantastic non the less. I would warn against this film if you do not like horrific imagery as its VERY strong but the story line more than makes it watchable. I've seen sick films before where the darker imagery seemed pointless and just added for shock factor, but in this film it works with the story. My only crit was that there probably wasn't enough depth into the male character, i felt i was left with on a basic understanding of him and would have liked to know more. Other than that i adored the film and would recommend to those who like the darker side of film!

The only thing worse then a boring, over-hyped low budget home video is a boring, low budget home video that relies on FAKE hype and planted shill reviews that most likely come from the people who made it. Why do I think and claim this to be the case? Well because I've been trying to work on a review of this movie for most of the last month. I'd always start writing it and then something would come up and I wouldn't get it done. Eventually I began to notice that every time I come back to work on my review, that Scrapbook was getting a ridiculous amount of new "10" ratings. It had to be like 40 "10"'s within the month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm sorry, but there's no way that so many people are out there loving this movie so much that they have to rush here to give it a "10". Especially since Scrapbook is a pretty weak movie all things considered! I'm not going to even go into the details I was going to share in my actual review because after seeing the endless shill reviews and ratings, I decided against it because this movie doesn't even deserve it. To put it mildly, Scrapbook is a weak carbon copy of every rape/revenge film (guy kidnaps girl and forces her to do bad things against her will) that's ever been made only with way less talent behind it. What Scrapbook does in abundance is an obvious army of shills who load this page with endless "plant" positive reviews and who sign up for multiple accounts for the sole purpose of giving Scapbook "10" ratings in order to boost it's IMDb rating. It's almost strange that the filmmakers even find it worthwhile since Scrapbook is nothing more then two non actors delivering the worst Jr. high school level performances that you're ever likely to see. There's no decent gore, just lots and lots of BORING dialog between the two non actors. There's also the so called " controversial" scenes between two actors and after seeing them you'll be wishing they never agreed to do those scenes. As for all the reviews claiming it to be this brutal, confrontational classic. Laugh at them because they're so ridiculous and they actually show more creativity then Scrapbook ever does. Always keep in mind with movies like Scrapbook that very few people see them and even less like them when they do see them. When you see garbage like Scrapbook with over 100 "10"'s for it's user ratings, be suspicious. All that said, I'd have probably gave this movie around a 3 or 4 (for effort alone) rating prior to seeing all the shill BS, but since Scrapbook has people who are obviously trying to boost it's rating by claiming that it's something that it's not, I have to give it a 1. For a much better low budget film, give the controversial Live Feed a chance.UPDATE: Since yesterday when I posted this review Scrapbook has mysteriously gotten another 5 "10" votes. How pathetic is this movie when the filmmakers have to manipulate it's rating. What happened to the days when actual fans would dictate your movie's cult status?2nd UPDATE: As of October 2, 2007, this piece of garbage movie now has 135 "10" votes!!! 6 more since my last update. Eric Stanze and company are pathetic!

Okay...you are going to hate this film and here is why...there is a very low body count...there is no real chase scene or exciting action...it is obviously shot on video with no budget...But then again from most of the independent review I've been reading...you're probably missing the point...Here's why. The movie is a claustrophobic mind screw about the relationship that develops between a killer and his victim...it's not fun...it's not funny...and when the victim is truly helpless it is not exciting...seriously how much crap are you going to give an abductor when you are beaten and tied down? The Movie is brutal in that you have to get into the mind set of the victim...the problem with modern horror is that we have lost that..thank you House of 1000 Corpses...now people only want to be able to relate to the killers and cheer for them...Scrapbook is not about that...you might also have to be a little educated on the idea of Stockholm Syndrome...to understand the victims emphasizing with the killer and how the ending of the film comes about...it's not mention but it is assumed that most people have heard of Patty Hearst or have taken Pysch 101..but this too is a problem with independent horror is that it might expect too much from it's audience. Scrap book is not your traditional horror film...it is also not an over the top Gore feast like the August underground Films...what it is is a Psychological investigation into a killer and his last victim...it's not bad...maybe over ambitious...and the being shot on video actually adds to this film as it makes the experience more real and takes away the fantastic element that the film quality adds...that can be unnerving for some people...and I think that is in part...a factor of Stanze's decision to go that way.

Scrapbook is a low budget horror, and it is brutal. Emily Haack plays, Clara who is kidnapped by a serial killer Leonard (Tommy Biondo). Hence the films title, Leonard keeps a record of his mutilation and killing in his "Scrapbook". This poor captured woman goes through all sorts with this mad man, he rapes, beats, and tortures her in all sorts of nasty ways. The rape scenes in particular are vile, and a bit to long. Scrapbook most certainly is in the new line of "hardcore horror" it is up their with the likes of, "Nutbag", "August Underground" and "MSP (Murder Set Pieces)". Plus in every respect maybe even more violent than those. But in saying that, the violence is not sugar coated, it's not made look "nice to watch", it's made to look for what it is: Ugly and at sometimes unbearable. This is what, I would bet, a real serial killer would be like to his victims. Scrapbook is most certainly a top notch serial killer flick, 7/10 (And the only reason it did not get a full 10 is because of the vile rape scenes) Unrated: Contains very strong sexual violence and Strong Language. Not for children under 18.
