The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Horror
This is an excellent film. Two great performances back with a great story. A must see!

Does the third act feel unfocused and scattered? Holy hell, does it!Overall, does the film push a little too hard on the sentimentality? It sure does, shamelessly at times.Does it suffer from minor inconsistencies and a couple of narrative plateaus the omission of which would have resulted in a shorter, more taut outcome? That would be another resounding "YES!".Do any of the above shortcomings ultimately matter? Hell, no, Rust and Bone is freaking stunning! And this coming from me, the person who dislikes both emotional manipulation AND Matthias Schoenaerts. Double whammy yet it still manages a very worthy 4 stars.Cheers for this Audiard, you're a good 'un, mate.

Greetings from Lithuania."Rust and Bone" (2012) is a terrific movie. The story itself isn't a simple as it might see because what this movie shows is a real life - it is down to earth reality. This is raw drama which doesn't shy away from anything, but at the same time it is inspiring one. Performances were superb by all involved. Marion Cotillard was amazing as Stéphanie who life turns upside down after a freak accident, but soon she starts a relationship which is this movies core. This is romance movie like i haven't seen in many moons. If you are looking some typical romantic drama, "Rust and Bone" has even shock you in its down to earth approach. Directing as well as writing were simply brilliant by Jacques Audiard. At running time 2 hours i was completely absorbed into this story, i cared for the characters which here aren't caricatures - this is as real as it gets.Overall, "Rust and Bone" is a powerhouse cinema. If you like completely down to earth drama with some romance, "Rust and Bone" is a must see.

This movie is pathetic. There is not any discernible part. When i look at the other reviews about the movie, it is commonly mentioned that the movie is about disabled people. Before than that there is another very important and hurtful situation in the movie. Wild animals should not be captured and locked in the aquaparks. If the story is very dramatic, the only reason is the whales that are trapped in the aquapark. That's horrible. Making profit from that is even worse... Instead of being against the captured animals, the director of the movie shows the whales in way that they like to stay trapped in bath tub. They are shown as if they can be used a part of rehabilitation of people they have had an accident causing permanent disability.
