I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

I will start with that I am not religious and too much preaching of any kind will turn me off on a movie. This movie has some Christian elements so if you are a fanatical Atheist who demonstrates the worst qualities of any fanatical thiest this is not the movie for you. If you expect a slick production and great acting this is not the movie for you. However if you like to contemplate the world and think about what ifs, this is a good movie. It asks many questions and good questions at that. Makes one think about how easy it is to fall into traps of fanaticism so readily displayed by previous reviewers. One does not need to be or identify with Christianity to identify with the ideas and questions asked. I'd love to see a higher budget less theist remake of this movie. The plot holds so much potential and warning for the world.

For decades now religious conservatives have complained about Hollywood being a Gomorrah of unwholesome sin. But this film wasn't made outside of Hollywood and yet it contains all kinds of violence in the name of defending Christianity. Christ said that Christians should turn the other cheek when struck and follow his example of his deeds in the garden of Gethsemane. Not only does religion play a heavy hand but the right wing conspiracy theories are shoved down your throat. The movie makes a point of telling you that the godless are out to control or kill the faithful. Give up your faith or die! Taking a Que from Muslim extremists where you must become a Muslim or die. This film is Conservative religious crap that was truly offensive, The American Taliban is strong with this film

****NO SPOILERS*** Had to stop halfway through because it seemed to me like I was back in Sunday school (hated every second of it). All in all the movie seems to have been written by a conspiracy theorist on acid fallen in a very bad religious trip. It's the classic holy water-washed flick where you end up supporting the "bad" guys (maybe bad in the hallucinated eyes of the ones that made this), in the vague hope they'll win killing their opponents (and in doing so make this thing some call a movie a bit more interesting). Don't lose your time and sanity and avoid this like the plague it is. there should be a law to prohibit such blatant examples of low level propaganda. The only moment I had fun was when I burned my copy in the fireplace.

If you're sick of the Left Behind movie series or cheesy Christian movies that are inaccurate Biblically or the annoying pre- tribulation vs post-trib rapture grand debate, then WATCH THIS MOVIE PLEASE! This is by FAR the MOST accurate for biblical prophecy and REALISTIC portrayal of the effects of war and future technology. I like that this movie ignores and skips the whole pre-tribulation rapture perspective that is repeated OVER and OVER in most Christian movies unfortunately. The entire movie does refer to prophecy scriptures that become evident and fulfilled as the movie unfolds. The direction of the plot was clever and had an intelligent sequence twist. Very well done! I won't spoil it. The main lead actors were convincing. I liked Ben Davies, Jennifer Cooper, Michael Ulmer, Lee Garrett and a few others. Unfortunately Eric Roberts is NOT a believable antichrist villain in this movie to be honest. This movie shows very realistic situations. For example, the government can track people within minutes and in times of government resistance there will always be groups of "rebels" with weapons when they see their rights are stripped and forced away by the government. Regardless of your spiritual background, you can imagine this would really happen when watching this movie. Please consider watching this movie even if you don't consider yourself a Christian or a believer of anything. If you feel that you're secure in what you believe then watching this movie shouldn't make you hostile or angry. Hopefully it will make you think and touch your heart. Ignore the reviews that are overly harsh and bash this movie out of anger. Only the militant anti-religious do that because in this movie it paints a picture that you actually become a SLAVE to the World System, EVEN when one thinks they're free by not ascribing to a religion or a spiritual identity. It struck the EGO to those who feel superior to others when they boast about not having a religion or spiritual background.Note: The first Left Behind was okay. My comment was referring to movies after that. Agape and respect to Kirk Cameron.
