Rocky Pink Audience Reviews

MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
OllieSuave-007 This is a little strange Pink Panther cartoon, where the panther wishes for a pet but ends up getting a rock when he didn't have enough money to buy a real animal. The panther "adopts" the rock anyway and it suddenly takes on a life of its own.Not many laughs from this one - a rather random and odd story even for a cartoon. The rock eating gravel, acting like a dog and going stir crazy was a bit over-the-top. It was nice, though, seeing Pink Panther's mother featured in the cartoon, which is her first appearance I think.Grade D
TheLittleSongbird The story in Rocky Pink is rather predictable, the objects following and causing trouble for Pinky idea has been done a fair number of times in the Pink Panther cartoons and with variable results and there is not much variation here. The pace is good at the start and in the first two minutes but does drag a tad in spots after that(the antics with the rock start only just less than half-way through into the cartoon. And the animation is still not great even for a purposefully simply animated series of cartoons(most of the time colourfully and endearingly), it looks like it was drawn in a rush and the colours do look flat and limited in numbers of colours used. There are bright spots with the animation though, the animation on the rock is quite good and a lot of the facial expressions like at the beginning are well-drawn and funny. Rocky Pink is more amusing than hilarious but the use of thought processes and signs while familiar are entertaining, the first two minutes set the cartoon up well and the cement gag makes for an inventive end to the cartoon. The one with the hole in the floor doesn't quite work as well, still amusing but it's one of the cartoon's most predictable moments. The music is as characterful and slinky as ever and while being variations of the theme tune and doesn't feel too samey or repetitive. The theme tune has lost none of its timeless value. Pinky is a great titular character, cool and likable with good comic timing and you do feel sorry for him at the end and when he gets kicked out by his mother. The rock while doing stuff that's similar to those done by other objects Pinky battles in previous cartoons is still an amusing foil and while the pet store owner and suspect man have small roles they are hardly insignificant, some of the better moments in the cartoon happen to belong in the reactions of the pet store owner or at least to me. All in all, decent if unexceptional Pink Panther cartoon. 7/10 Bethany Cox
