Return of the Living Dead III Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Caryl It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
bowmanblue If you're looking for an excellent, fun little zombie film, filled with laughs, gore and general gross-outs... then watch 'Return of the Living Dead.' That's 'Part I' that is. 'Part II' was basically 'zombies for kids' (even if it did try to follow on directly from the original and keep the humour/gore style intact. However, 'Part III' doesn't really feel like part of the saga at all. Yes, it continues to chart what happens to barrels of the chemical '245 Trioxin' (the stuff that creates zombies, if you're interested!), but, apart from that, it's a whole new film. You can understand those who enjoyed the first one (and the second didn't have too many fans to begin with) being disappointed with the third entry. It's really a sequel in name only. But, believe it or not, not a bad film.Yes, it doesn't have a budget and no, it doesn't really have any actors who are that famous, but it did have an original little concept (for its time). Back in 1993 the idea of zombies having an 'inner conscious' was actually something new. Since zombies came back into fashion, we've had all sorts of takes on that idea, but in the early nineties, when a girl dies before her time in a (easily prevented!) motorcycle accident, then her boyfriend uses his dad's access to the military base and its stores of Trioxin to bring her back. Naturally, things don't go to plan. Yes, his beloved Julie returns to him, but also with a desire to eat anyone not going out with her.Don't expect a masterpiece. It's one of those films that, if you like the genre and can find it for free (it must be on Netflix or the like by now!), then you'll probably enjoy it. The two primary characters are likable (if a little stupid at times) for you to care enough about and there's some decent (non CGI) gore to keep the 'claret-lovers' happy.
Paul Magne Haakonsen While this is officially the third movie in the "Return of the Living Dead" line, then it feels nothing like the previous two. Brian Yuzna veered so far off course with his direction and personal touch that it stopped being a "Return of the Living Dead" movie and just turned into another typical Yuzna-produced monster movie. That being said, don't get me wrong, because it is still en enjoyable movie in its own right. Just don't expect a "Return of the Living Dead" movie as per se.The special effects were good, as you would expect from your average Yuzna movie, and there were some really great zombies to be seen in this movie, just a shame that they were only there for the last 10 minutes of the movie.Melinda Clarke really carried the movie quite well and almost singlehandedly. And her transformation into that undead creature was nice, however Yuzna managed to sleaze up the movie unnecessarily with the nudity throughout the movie.Surely an entertaining movie for what it was. I just don't consider it to be in the spirit of the "Return of the Living Dead" franchise. And it is not a movie that is a must own for a zombie aficionado.
jlthornb51 A very powerful existentialist horror film that captures the emotions and doesn't let go. Seldom does any film tackle the questions of life and death, the nature of existence, and the limits of humanity but this motion picture does so unflinchingly. The way director Brian Yuzna realizes John Penny's moving screenplay is incredibly well done. Longing, mourning, and the terrible pain of loss is eloquently conveyed and the young cast is more than capable in their respective roles. It is particularly strong when depicting the lengths that true love will drive one to in order to cling to the beloved in any circumstances. The tragic aspects of obsession are beautifully done and the balance between hope and tragedy is stunning in its intensity. A fine performance by Kent McCord as the father is something to pay close attention to. An unusual and deeply moving film that will leave audiences disturbed yet incredibly touched by what they have seen.
evanpenkethman when i was around ten, i stopped going outside at night for a few years after seeing this movie. my parents didn't like it (the movie). the gore is classic, and river man with the spine thing is classic. short review, short movie. would watch it again. the returns from the eighties were funny and campy as can be, but with the dawn of the nineties, the gore got better, and the whole teenage angst thing took total hold of the series. this film is the total product of the nirvana, my so called life generation that spawned so many great bad films....i like bad films mind you so...all in all, super fun, super sexy, and contains broken glass breast implants. if you skipped this one its probably available somewhere.
