Nothing is every simple for the Pink Panther. For example, he heads to the beach for some relaxation. All that he wants to do is fish. Instead, he battles a bunch of worms and an angry crab. There's one worm who won't cooperate. This only leads to more problems with the militant crab. What's a panther to do?

Reel Pink Audience Reviews

Colibel Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
OllieSuave-007 The Pink Panther goes fishing and, except for catching one fish, runs into one mishap after the other as a couple of the worm baits he bought sabotages his boat and fishing rod, and a crab with a bad attitude, challenges the panther to a duel that results in laughter and unbelievable action. This one's a pretty good Pink Panther cartoon, one that definitely has plenty of action and slapstick humor, though, predictable outcome at times. It was clear that the panther got himself outnumbered, but his classic self made the cartoon short entertaining.Grade B
TheLittleSongbird That is not to say that Reel Pink is a waste of time, because it isn't. The animation is colourful and elegant enough though simple. The music score's jazzy feel is very memorable and fits beautifully. It is clear also why the catchy theme tune is so iconic in animation even today too. And Pinky is still one cool and endearing character, also clever, though he has worked better in better-written scenarios. The worm is cute and is a good foil, the sequence where he is at work is the highlight of Reel Pink, sadly he just goes with no explanation. While I liked Pinky and the worm, the crab didn't really do much that was interesting and came and went out of nowhere, if I hadn't known that they were the adversaries I would have wondered what the point of it was. It doesn't help that the material isn't very funny, it is not really smart, thick-and-fast or laugh-a-minute, any amusing moment is occasional but much of it is silly and repetitive. The pacing feels both rushed(I did think that the cartoon was a little on the short side too) and because of the humour falling flat dull. And the story was strange to say the least, the two halves were completely different and un-related to one another and I couldn't really tell what the focus of it was supposed to be. All in all, not disastrous and has good things but strange and really not one of the Pink Panther's best. 5/10 Bethany Cox
ccthemovieman-1 Where else but a cartoon can you see a worm, that is about to be used as bait standing on the hook wearing a pair of swim goggles, or see a crab open up and have an artillery gun inside blasting away at you? This was a strange cartoon. The Pink Panther buys a half-dozen worms and goes fishing. One of the worms is not your normal ones, and one of the little green critters doesn't want any part of being on the end of a hook. He tries to escape but the Pink Panther threatens him with a gun, so he squiggles back into the can!The next few minutes feature this amazing worm at work, underwater, on shore, in the boat, etc, mostly trying to sabotage the Panther's fishing exploits. It was pretty clever, and certainly different. Then, the last half of the cartoon deals with a strange crab and his battle against the PP. What happened to the worm? This is like two stories in one.Note: this cartoon obviously was filmed in widescreen but was not presented as such. It's obvious because early on is a sign on the wall and it's cut in half. You can barely make it out. Later, we miss other parts of this because the screen has cut them out. This is inexcusable and this DVD should have provided us a look at the whole cartoon visuals, not just 60 percent of it.
Shawn Watson The Pink Panther goes to the beach for a day of relaxing fishing. He buys six worms for 25 cents, but one of them is intent on ruining his day. Loads of obvious and predictable gags follow, including one in which Pinky's boat goes over a waterfall. But, hang on, I thought he was supposed to be at the beach. I've never been to a beach with a waterfall.Overall, this is one of the most boring Pink Panther cartoons I have ever seen. He hardly does anything funny and it just feels like an excuse for some dumb comedy than an actual cartoon with a point to the mayhem. Sorry, not impressed with this one.
