A Masterpiece!

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Allison Davies
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Foreign made films have a bad reputation for being long and boring. This is simply not true. Some of the best movies I have seen (including this one, obviously) were made in other countries. I must warn you, though, that since it is foreign it must be watched with English subtitles or dubbing.Although it takes a little while to develop, once we get to the actual creature hunt, it was worth it. The creature itself (I won't say what it was, for fear of spoiling it) looks awesome and scary. The situations the characters get in make you wonder, "How are they going to get out of this?" It's not a B movie at all; the special effects and acting are nothing to be laughed at. It is exciting and the characters have a realistic quality.Looking back, I don't even recall reading the subtitles - it was so good I remember it as if all the lines were English. In short, "Ragnarok" is great adventure story worthy of a watch.

I was watching this movie with my family in Japanese subtitles. In short: It is a good entertainment for your family if they like Jurassic Park or Viking kind of stories, and luckily mine is in to those. At first, I had a little confidence with the CG effect used, but I found it okay during the movie. The concept of this movie is to combine legend, viking and a journey/adventure is nice. The scenery is just marvelous, I love it so much. Nice view, I want to see it myself someday. It is the plus 2 points for it.So, from my side, it is not that terrible, and it is very good for the entertainment.

As an American who lived in Oslo briefly and has read anything about the Vikings I can find, at least in English, I was thrilled with the movie! Surprisingly, Netflix had it rated at 2.5 out of 5. It was way better than that!!!! My only complaint about the film was an attention to details in the production. The characters carried very little on their journey,(no backpacks and nothing on their little raft), and yet they always what they needed. That should have been better thought out. Great story, wonderful twists, and using the Viking Ship Museum as a backdrop at the beginning, made it all very, very fun! I really loved it and it's one I'll watch again and again, I'm sure!!!!!

Watch this movie if you love a good story and want to be interested, thrilled and entertained.I'll skip the critic jargon others posted and cut to the chase. All the characters are completely believable. The good guys are good. The bad guys get what they deserve. Lessons are learned the hard way and relationships are made. Refreshingly, the baddass is a she who is still sensitive and feminine.Do not watch this movie if you are a self-aggrandizing amateur movie critic who confuses complexity with quality or a history buff who gets put off by the slightest inaccuracy. In fact, if you are either, don't bother watching any movies. And certainly do not review them here.Although I saw this movie at home, my guess is the theater was full of gripped armrests, cheers and screams of "Look out!" (Or the Norwegian equivalent) during its screening. To the critic who stated in his review that a board of directors would never scoff at an amazing discovery that flies in the face of what it accepts as fact, check your history. It has happened, happens today and will happen in the future. That is one of the lessons of the movie. It seems you didn't learn it.The movie is definitely worth watching. (I'm a 41 year old man.) Young children will be frightened, so screen it first before letting them see it.I'm rating it 10 to balance the dolts who gave it a 1.
