Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
FirstWitch
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Portia Hilton
Blistering performances.
Philippa
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Ugh - I saw all the good actors listed and so I watched this movie. Can I erase my memory? Maybe go to Total Recall and pay to have it removed? I just wanted to know how the little boy got in the coma. Is that too much to ask?? It was really depressing and I guess the only moral to the story is that if you just get through it things might get better if you can make a connection with someone else before you get so depressed you want to shoot yourself in the head. I also could not understand how Ray Liotta's character was deep in snow but The stripper and the mortician - there was no snow. The snow was blue - so that explained the title of the movie but still did not make sense. I just found the movie a little disturbing all-in-all. It was about as shallow as Demi Moore's stripper debut movie and that other awful movie I had managed to forget with the redhead stripper from Head of the Class but she could not act and these people could. I will steer clear of Crash and Magnolia, since others are hinting that this movie is even worse than those. I will only have to conclude for myself that the little boy is in a coma because his coke-head mom crashed the car or dropped him on his head. She didn't deserve to have a dog either.

This is a very poignant movie about the loneliness that pervades the human condition, and how seemingly coincidental events can affect people whose paths otherwise wouldn't have crossed. Jessica Biel gives a stellar performance as an exotic dancer (it seems she did her own dancing) who has unresolved family situations. Forest Whitaker is another main character whose performance is compelling as a grieving widower. Ray Liotta gives a haunting portrayal of an ex-con seeking some closure. And Eddie Redmayne portrays a mortician who also likes giving puppet shows for children's' entertainment. Lisa Kudrow also does well in a supporting role. I think it's a very well written and executed drama.

It was criticized for being about loneliness and love. How could that be a criticism? What emotions are more fundamental to human life? It was criticized because it asks us to believe that beautiful women can be insecure and desperately lonely and needy. Has reality been so thoroughly replaced by TV in our minds? Jessica Biel, Eddie Redmayne and Forest Whitaker give realistic touching performances and the rest of the cast is just as energetic. Like Biel Los Angeles is stripped, flashing naked concrete and gritty alleys. The loss, despair and torment didn't seem melodramatic to me but an unflinching look at the darkest moments in life, feelings we can't look in the eye. Lovely portrayals of the awkward ways we reach out trying to cut through the barriers between us.It's a drama with the feel of film noir, not a love story, a crime story, or an action film. Not the kind of film I usually enjoy, but it is fast paced with lots of interesting relationship developments so it kept me intrigued. The photography is gorgeous, too. While some of the plot twists are borrowed from TV soaps, the film manages to treat them as surreal plot devices, to exaggerate and expose relationships and inner feelings, like a comic book of the emotions. What is especially nice are some short scenes sketching interactions of attraction, repulsion, need, or desperation that are unique and strike true.

The overall story and characters in this movie were fantastic and I would highly recommend this to anyone. I am very surprised this movie seemed to slip through the cracks and not get the attention it deserved.Ray liota and Forrest Whitaker are a given to provide great performances. But I was shocked by how good Jessica Biel was in this movie. Always thought she was a below average actress but she blew me away in this film. She also blew me away with how hot and sexy she is.... I could watch her Strip tease act over and over again (which by the way I have done and seen it probably 15x). My god how I would like to be Justin Timberlake for one day!! Great Film.... Go buy it as its definitely worth the money
