The Pink Panther attempts to sell corn from his farm to local residents, but he is kept busy not by trying to sell the vegetables, but from fending off two hungry crows from taking his corn. So, there's lots of back and forth duels between the panther and the crows, resulting in some funny in-your-face hits, from getting blow on by grenades disguised as corn to them flying into brick walls built in the cornfield. The panther seemed to have the upper hand in this one; always like for the panther to win in these type of scenarios. However, his kind heart got the best of him! A pretty funny cartoon overall, though, not one of the better ones out there.Grade B-

None of the 1969 Pink Panther cartoons have disappointed, and Pink on the Cob also doesn't disappoint. Not the absolute best of that particular batch, but on the whole with the Pink Panther cartoons Pink on the Cob is among the one-of-the-better group. Conceptually if you are familiar with Pinky battling different characters for the same thing it is not much of a variation here. But when there is so much charm and entertainment to be seen in Pink on the Cob, that doesn't matter all that much, and it is a fun and crisply paced story as well. The animation is bright and colourful with simple albeit carefully drawn backgrounds. The music with the ever classic theme tune and the jazzy incidental orchestration is catchy and subtly used, not too repetitive, it is reflective of the 60s jazz but still holds its relevance and appeal now as well. The gags are cleverly timed and riotously funny, no obvious duds here, not just the actions and the wit but the gestures and expressions are a joy visually and it synchronises very well with the sound and the music. Pinky is a cool and relatable character with great comic timing, and he contrasts beautifully with the crows who are somewhat on the irritating side(though they are meant to be) but are funny too. Overall, hugely entertaining and colourful, for Pink Panther fans Pink on the Cob doesn't disappoint. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Our Panther grows corn and has a little stand next to the fields. When he goes back to get more corn, he discovers obnoxious birds eating his corn. These guys look like an old cartoon duo called "Heckle & Jeckle." These crows hold the corn and eat it as we humans would! The PP boots them out of the field and immediately puts up a scarecrow. What happens next is hilarious: the crows grab the scarecrow's outfit and put it on themselves, pretending to be a human. They walk up to the stand are start eating and pilfering the corn. The Panther gets mad and gets out his shotgun and......The humor becomes more and more outrageous throughout this animated short as the Pink Panther battles these determined crows who want his corn. It's a battle of wits and military strategy and it's one of the best PP animated shorts I've seen. It's colorful, too, with some excellent artwork.
