Every zombie, or undead apocalypse is a bit different then the last, and this one is no different. A lot of the same, with that hint cilantro.This take has you go from first person (it reminds me so much of the House of the Dead movies), to third person often. Lots of blood and gore, some jump scares, and maybe a happy ending? But, does any apocalyptic movie ever really have a happy ending.Think about it though, in the end what wouldn't you do to find your family?Dr. Lauren Chase who is a member of the CDC, will find out just that.Dr. Chase, with a small group of others, is sent out to find and retrieve uninfected people. But, is she really who she says she is?Wink wink.

I think people are being unduly harsh. The film is ok and worth watching. It's predictable (I predicted the time and manner of death of the main cast accurately) and some of the effects leave something to be desired (compare, for example, These Final Hours which had a super low budget and yet managed to produce some quite good effects).I wish they'd explored the Level 5 infected a bit more. The warehouse scene indicated there was more to them, but unfortunately this aspect was not explored further.

After I saw the trailer for "Pandemic" by sheer luck on YouTube, I just had to track down this movie and get it watched, especially since I am a huge zombie aficionado. And the trailer for 2016's "Pandemic" looked really intense.Well, at least the trailer was intense. The actual movie, meh... It was actually semi-boring, which was somewhat of a disappointment and a slap to the face. I must expect that I had expected a lot more from this movie after having seen that trailer.Certainly there were some good parts to the movie, and those parts had lots of action and a really great and fast pace to it. And that was really what held the movie afloat.This is not a movie that is driven by acting performances or by character development. Actually the characters in "Pandemic" were very mundane and generic, to the point where you didn't really care if they died or survived, and it didn't matter who died and who survived, because they were essentially the same character, just with a different face.The acting in the movie was fair enough, taking into consideration the limitations that the acting talents had to work with in terms of script and direction.The first person view that permeated the movie was a different but not entirely unwelcoming approach to the zombie genre. Sure it has been seen before, but it actually worked out well enough in "Pandemic".A zombie movie needs proper special effects, and honestly, then "Pandemic" was limping here. The special effects and CGI effects were not impressive to be bluntly honest, and that was sort of holding the movie back in a way.Putting the cards on the table, then I have to say that "Pandemic" was an adequate movie in terms of being entertaining. But it was far from being an impressive movie addition in the zombie genre.

It is inspiring to how much this movie fails. It had a bit of everything bad in it. Despite that, I can't call this the worst movie I've seen (trust me it can get worse, try Bigfoot vs Zombies). Unlikable CharactersLauren: The worst character in a movie full of unlikable characters. At first she appears to be a doctor that's not cut for the field. Then she's revealed to be a liar who's purpose was to save her family. I understand it, but she's still a selfish and horrible character. You got your whole team killed just to save your daughter. Like I said, I understand it, but your daughter does not warrant your whole team being killed along with potential people that you can't treat.Wheeler: you know the annoying white guy with a bad mouth. That's this guy. Plus he's lazy to boot. He didn't want to actually do his job, while simultaneously critiquing others. Sad thing is, I actually LIKE his character type. They generally provide the comedy, but I can't laugh at his jokes when he's just as useless as the others. Though he does come through in the end with his driving and hot wiring skills.Dennis: She was useful at first, but then she got annoying. Her job is to kill the infected people along with Gunner. She also knows a bit about healing and using the first aid kit. She went to a school where they had to check for survivors, and got depressed that they killed an infected woman with a child (either stillborn or fake). Um? You kill zombies all day and everyday, what makes her different (blonde white woman)?Gunner: My favorite of all characters. He got his instructions, and followed them. I also understood his frustration with Lauren because she couldn't do the one job she was assigned to do, and she couldn't even defend herself. Come on Lauren. Terrible PlotWoman basically lied and got her teammates, and potential other people who will need a doctor, killed to save her daughter. Weird Camera anglesWhat's with this first person stuff? I feel like I'm watching someone play Call of Duty: Zombie mode, instead of a movie. Just a bad movie all around. Unlikable characters, including main character, weird camera angles and POVs, and a terrible plot. Skip this one.
