This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

This film started off pretty good...but then like many films do.....started to fizzle. The filmmakers tried making it too weird & wacky. All these different scenes that do not correlate to one another. Then when that starts happening....interest starts to fade. I got to the point where I wanted to turn it off but since I already had time invested, I stuck it through to the end.If you can see this for free (like I did on Amazon) and you're already done scrubbing the toilets and have nothing else to do that day - then I might suggest to watch it. But definitely do not pay to see this as it's not even worth a few bucks. Find something else that is more worthy to watch.

The synopsis of this film is enough to make you want to watch it. A man wakes up in a pit full of dead bodies. He has no memory of how he got there. After escaping he enters a house full of strangers who are also extremely agitated and just like him they have all lost their memory.The elephant in the room though is that if they are all alive then who has killed all the people? That is when the fun begins. What I really liked about this film was that it continued to surprise, I got it wrong every time I tried to guess what was coming next and that for me is a real plus.The cast are a brilliantly disparate group too and they all do an excellent job of keeping you right on the edge of your seat. The pacing is just right; the make up spot on and even the music gets the mood just right. There is not a lot not to like here (sorry about the double negative). It was filmed in Hungary but has a feel of being American despite a cast that is International. If you like your horror's to be a bit on the dystopian side then you should have a look at this.

Open Grave starts off simple, but as the film goes on, it becomes more and more sinuous. The plot goes in directions you wouldn't expect, and the pacing is just right. This is the type of movie that will constantly keep you guessing and does an incredible job of building suspense. The story slowly pieces itself together as it goes along. My eyes were glued to the screen the entire run time. I think what I liked most about the film was the sense of mystery. You know nothing about the outside world, and you will constantly wonder who the characters are and why they are in that situation. I cannot rave enough about the suspense. While viewing, I found myself wondering what I would do if I were in that situation. It is also VERY well shot and well directed. The camera angles, lighting, sound effects, and music could not have been done better. As you can tell, it is extremely difficult to review this film without giving away any key plot points, but for fans of the mystery genre, it is definitely worth checking out. My only flaws with the film are minuscule; some of the dialogue, not all, but some, feels slightly forced. Also the ending was very disappointing. However, those two things do not take away from the overall conclusion that Open Grave is a fantastic movie that is a must-see for fans of the genre.

Normally I like these kinds of movies: the protagonists don't know who they are or why they are there. You (the audience) get to uncover the mystery together with the characters. Problem with this film is that you get to know the end pretty fast (like after about 40 minutes) and then you have to wait about an hour to see the conclusion this film-with-a-much-to-thin-plot was inevitably was going to. Also quite annoying is that the characters keep saying 'I have a feeling I know you' to each other, but like a lot. That and other lame questions like 'what are we doing here'. Not only is this irritating because obviously nobody knows anything, it also doesn't give you any extra background information on the characters. Cube had sort of a similar premise but was made much, much better. Look, it's not a bad film but as a mystery film the story should have had more depth and have been much richer. 6/10 for me.
