I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

Even though this production has been around for a few years I was recently introduced to it as an aviation must see. I enjoyed this journey into the world of flight from an airport steeped in history.The production value of the is very impressive and adds to the validity of the story. The sequence of the DC-3 followed all the way to touchdown, the sequences transitioning from the past to the present and the many flying sequences against the clouds enriched the story. Aviation is in my heart and the passion shown in this film raises the emotions to new heights. Bravo to Brian, the sponsors,the "cast" and the production crew for bringing this story to the big screen and DVD for our enjoyment. I look forward to continued offerings in the future. Outstanding!

As a longtime pilot and aviation enthusiast, I was awestruck by "One Six Right" the first time I saw it. It is a magnificent tribute to general aviation. Brian Terwilliger is an outstanding filmmaker! He clearly has an enormous passion for aviation. I've never seen such beautiful aerial photography in my life and the editing of current and historic footage was perfectly done. The thing that really set off the visuals was the story of Van Nuys airport. For all general aviation pilots, we recognize the history of Van Nuys as the history of our local airports. The wonderful thing about general aviation is that this story is really the story of all small airports - the joy pilots feel about "kicking the tires and lighting the fires" and the struggles the airport endures as urban sprawl encroaches ("nobody ever built an airport in the middle of a housing development"). Thanks for truly superb movie with all the dimensions of modern general aviation. Please re-release it on BluRay as soon as possible.

I've had my license for many years now and its hard to put into words how much I love aviation. This film does such a good job capturing the true nature of what its like to be a pilot and why those of us that choose to fly love it so much. Anyone who knows a pilot should watch this film. You'll understand your friend a lot better after you do. You might even be inspired to take a few lessons yourself. ;) The imagery in this film is spectacular. The images are go grand that it brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it.I've been fortunate enough to meet several of the famous aviation people you'll see in this film. In every case I've been amazed by how genuine and nice they were in person. There is just something a little different about pilots. Wonderfully different.

I just watched this film in HD at home today. There is NO better way to watch this film. The opening sequence showing the juxtaposition of historical vs current footage actually brought tears to my eyes. One Six Right brought the same emotions to me as when I flew myself to the Wright Brothers Memorial in North Carolina. The beauty and passion so many people feel about aviation is perfectly exemplified throughout the film. More than a documentary, 16 Right tells the story of general aviation in America today. There are protagonists (Van Nuys Airport), antagonists (Mayor Daley and his wife), and tragic heroes (Meigs Field in Chicago). All of that, and one thing I didn't notice right away... in a community where jargon is the modus operandi, I never heard ANY jargon. If you have never flown an airplane, visited an airport, or even watched AIRPLANE! you can still enjoy this film. 10 out of 10 for story, color, sound, and lots and lots of airplanes.
