Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.

End of humanity is even darker than we have thought. Few robots in the dead theater. They play us and we are watching. Pure magic. Nothing happens, but you are there. Great movie in "japan-western's" style. It has Soul. It doesn't have body. Only head on the floor. Somebody will fall in love with it. Some lonely cat will. Female characters are outstanding. Rutger Hauer is Rutger Hauer. Deep music all around the place. Omega Domm is full of future shocks: Matrix type antagonists, for example. Were Wachowski under the influence of this film? I believe, they were. But don't compare it to Matrix, it is Anti-Matrix. That is why it is really good. Give Omega Doom special effects of Matrix and our planet will explode. So, in order to keep our world safe and sound we need to store these two wonderful films on a different poles.

There is a place where two rival gangs fight for dominion; suddenly, a mysterious and shrewd stranger arrives, he turns the ones against the others, allies with everybody, undermines all plans—now this is a subjects worthy of a Kurosawa, Leone and Pyun.In this post-apocalyptic western, the rival bands are the Droids and the Roms; they fight over some yet unfounded guns hidden somewhere in a deserted town. In the apocalyptic winter, it looks like all humans have perished. The fight of the machines is deemed to be frightful; it is not really—but so it's deemed. The mysterious, charismatic stranger is a Hybrid—another machine—an upgraded Hybrid, played by Hauer; the friendly local is the bartender, a Drone. When Hauer sets foot in town, there are three Roms—played by Cote, Pierce, Ireland; and four Droids—played by Whirry, Poland, Zuri and White. OMEGA DOOM is low—budget Sci—Fi western. It's true that some less inspired lines and even the plot's idea will look perhaps a little ridiculous to some fans—but hey, let's not let them make a majority! Most Sci—Fi fans will find very touching Zed's final.Hauer even uses an Eastwood cigar, to make things as clear as possible, for the most slow—minded of fans.Anna Katarina plays the Drone bartender, a mild and serving creature; Weisser is Hauer's funny buddy. Shannon Whirry is the sexpot of the movie—as ZED, the Droid princess. We are also treated twice with the prophetic poem of D Thomas about the victory over death. In the desolated cityscape of the apocalyptic winter, that ought to be an encouragement.

No robot binge would be complete without at least one review for an Albert Pyun cyborg movie. Problem was that I had reviewed Cyborg, Nemesis, Nemesis 2, Heatseeker and Knights so I looked at what I had missed and here it was. The sad thing is that Omega Doom is actually probably Pyun's worst robot movie. I haven't seen Nemesis 4 but at 65 minutes, it's doubtful that Nemesis 4 would be as boring as this. This movie really bored me to tears. The plot is a rip off of Yojimbo with Rutger Hauer setting up two cyborg armies against each other and that's all there is to the plot. Literally the movie just has no other movement beyond that. Now i've seen Yojimbo, Fistful Of Dollars, The Warrior and The Sorceress and Death Wish 4:The Crackdown which use the same premise and yet somehow this one remains only marginally better than Warrior and The Sorceress and of course pales in comparison to even Death Wish 4. I would like to describe the movie but aside from the Yojimbo storyline the movie just doesn't have anything that interested me. Rutger Hauer is clearly at a career low, Shannon Whirry doesn't get naked from what I remember and the movie is just super duper dull. What the movie needed was some dumb action like in Cyborg and Nemesis, however this movie is just endless jibba jabba and that is the film's shortcoming. So, while this isn't the worst movie of my binge, this film is certainly well worth avoiding.* out of 4-(Bad)

Honestly, I only really picked this up because it came as sort of a "B-Side" to "Blind Fury," a movie I enjoyed very much when a friend of mine showed it to me several months before. I figured "What the Heck?" I wasn't losing any money by watching the B-Side of a movie I wanted to buy anyways.first things first. Don't expect heavy action or high end effects like "The Matrix." Don't expect an intricate plot like Babylon 5. And don't expect it to knock your socks off. This is a B-Movie CLEARLY made on a B-Budget. If you go in expecting it to be Shakespeare, The Matrix, Bab 5, or any other earth shattering experience, you WILL be disappointed. What should you expect? Expect rainy day TV-level sci fi flick. Expect a post-apocalyptic world that in many ways resembles the wild West. Yes, this movie has a lot of things in common with Westerns. It's hard not to pick up on the similarities from the first scene right up until the end. I don't like giving plot spoilers, so I won't get specific, but you can see it there very plainly if you watch it.All in all, it was entertaining. It's a low-budget movie to watch with friends or a cheesey flick to amuse yourself when there's nothing on TV.
