chazponz Before whoever wrote this IMDb page goes and hides their face in shame, they should remove the current, "who pulled this out of their..." log line, and replace it with the NetFlix log line: "An Afghan militant steals a microchip containing the names of corporations and investors who want to exploit Afghanistan's mineral reserves."Why do that? Because the NetFlix log line captured perfectly what the movie was about insofar as all the action that takes place; which dramatically drives home the underpinnings of why nobody has nor ever will, take over Afghanistan.

kshehzad Once famous Indian film critic Rajeev Masand asked Christopher Nolan in an interview, does he find himself asking whether his audience is going to understand the content or not. Nolan's answer was simple, direct and liberating. He said he only thinks whether he himself is going to get it or not. In my opinion, Jamshed Mahmood Raza aka Jami belongs to same genre of film makers for whom their own belief in their work takes priority over expectations of audience. Directors like Jami never dumb down content and style of execution for common denominators but always gamble on intellectual prowess of his audience which in my opinion is an effort to find those few with riddle solving ability among audience. It is uplifting to see that he never takes his serious audience as granted.Current geopolitical situation in Af-Pak and hovering corporate interest in minerals of the region is a topic which has never been the subject matter of Hollywood film makers because of their deep rooted love in subjects based on "war against terrorism" but 021 intelligently ventures in to explore this unknown territory in typical Jami style where he also tingles the moral stand point of the characters involved in highly clandestine new Great Game of modern era. The most interesting part of 021 narrative is its effort to ponder common conceptions of every party involved in new Great Game such as it is believed in circles of US intelligence that Pakistani ISI always plays a double game with CIA. 021 explains this point coherently but not without valid reasons. 021 wisely shows why playing double games against big powers involved in this region goes in favor of both Afghanistan and Pakistan. After watching 021 it is difficult to grade performances of the cast because everyone has reached emotional peak with their intense portrayal of the characters. Shaan Shahid shows again why he is the number one actor of Pakistan. Hameed Sheikh's role as serious Afghan intelligence officer proves his command over versatility. In one instance he plays a commoner with no power whatsoever in other film and in second instance he is strong intelligence officer carrying ability to change the fate of whole nation. Ayub Khoso who is playing the main instigator in 021 has done excellent job. Amina Sheikh has done satisfactory job. 021 also incorporates international talents like Joe Towne, James Hallett, Wendy Haines and Summer Nicks. Joe Towne takes the maximum brownie points with his intense portrayal of CIA agent who is fully aware of consequences a failure. I think Joe Towne is a fantastic actor potential to break in Hollywood's A-List if an opportunity is provided. Wendy Haines as CIA biggie performs remarkably well. James Hallett and Summer Nicks have done OK job as some sort of whistle blowers. On the whole, 021 is 'correct' tale of corporate espionage with all the right ingredients but with no proper marketing strategy. As an avid fan of new and emerging Pakistani cinema it antagonizes me to learn that film makers of 021 have shown no spine to promote a ground breaking Pakistani film which has an enormous international appeal. Disappointment in domestic box office must not have be taken as an excuse because even films like "Interstellar" will confront same fate if it is released in single screens of Pakistan. 021 is a kind of film every Pakistani should proud of but they are not. Welcome to Pakistan, My friend.

Alamdar Khan 021 released a few weeks ago and when released I started hearing various compliments from all across my social media accounts and i was anxious to wait and check out what it was all about.Starting the movie with an amazing open sequence 021 took all over me It instantly gave me a feeler of watching a full hardcore Hollywood production line feature film. Jami Mahmood's artist grip on the direction and the execution was phenomenal.I see a complete new range of innovation being captured and executed unlike the standard commercialized movies that have the bollywood feel to it.021 is a completely out of the box production and execution and it a definite 10/10 from me.Hameed Sheikh along with Ayub Khoso defined themselves as the true stars of the film.Bravo team 021 proud of you

daniyalkhan857 After Watching Operation 021 i am thrilled. Brilliantly crafted movie i have ever watched in Pakistan history. The screenplay was awesome, background music was great. Shan performance was awesome, his dialogue delivery style was great.Amina sheikh and Shamoon Abbasi and also the rest of the cast performed well in this film. The only reason a small fraction of people are not liking it is because its bitter truth or some are morons who didn't understand the concept of the movie.Or who like to watch 'Rohit Shetty' Movies. Not the regular social drama, masala and item song drama that is in demand.In the end this is the best script and quality pakistani movie so far.A must watch movie.
