O.J.: Made in America Audience Reviews

Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
UnowPriceless hyped garbage
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
jluck-77398 Clearly this was a very cool in depth look but I think America was a little tired of the story. Between the other doc done and the A&E show being put out just before this, the story had been told over and over. That being said, this was definitely the most in depth and will probably live on in history. Kudos to the team - must have been quite the undertaking.
eyelash-96234 This guy is guilty as sin. He is nothing but an egotistical butt head. He killed Ron Goldman & Nicole with not remorse what so ever. He deserves to stay in jail in NV for the rest of his life. It will more than likely save another woman for another horrific death. When even some of the jurors stated that they voted not guilty because of revenge of Rodney King that was so wrong. Mark Furhman is also a butt head for his remarks, but that does not excuse OJ to get away with murder. When even his best friend & manager states he's guilty...that say something. I hope to God that all of the money from all of the shows that have been on lately, that the money will go to the Browns & Simpsons. Even his friend Kardashian look astonished with the not guilty verdict.
bob the moo I recently watched Making a Murder, the Netflix documentary about a criminal case, and part of the reason that worked was that I did not know anything about where it was going. After finishing it, I did wonder how it would play out if I already knew what the outcome was, and all the detail on the way. Those same thoughts occurred to me as I decided to watch this 7+ hour documentary series. Being in Northern Ireland at the time with few channels and limited connection to the US, I didn't have the obsession many seemed to, but certainly I knew all the names, all the details of the case, and so on. As a result I wondered if this would be essentially a summarized version of the case I already knew, and of a story that I was already up-to-date with. While that is essentially true, the documentary series is very well structured and laid out so that the case itself is almost a 'plot device', so to say, in a much bigger story. It unfolds on two levels – one is the character of OJ himself, the other is the rich landscape of race relations within the US. Both are equally compelling, and the series does well in how it connects and intertwines them. I knew the headlines, but the structure draws you into a much better level of appreciation for the depth of feeling, and where OJ put himself within that landscape (before and after the trial). The trial itself is engaging, but all the more so for having the context of the political and personal. There are plenty of great contributions to give the archive footage a framing; the obvious names are there – but it is often those I did not know that added the most value (the few jurors for example).A seven hour documentary about OJ sounds like a tough sell – particularly outside of the US where perhaps the obsession was less; however it is a series worth seeing because it touches on so much and highlights a lot about the man, the system, the background, race relations, the media, and much more. It is engaging, troubling, sobering, informative, insightful, and very well delivered – easily worth the time.
neil-swift-23453 Well is it the final chapter? I seriously doubt it. We all must have seen numerous documentaries about OJ and what happened or didn't happen and we all have our own version of what we think happened. Some older people (like me) may remember watching this as it happened and some may have caught up after the fact but it's still a fascinating watch. This is as comprehensive as it gets, and at seven and a half hours does cover it very comprehensively. I did it in three instalments and never got bored on any occasion. It was factual, with actual footage of the trail, and is updated with commentary provided by many who were involved.I'm not gonna take sides and slam or praise anyone but be assured, you will. No matter how you think things went down you will have a good guy and bad guy scenario and like me you will become a little louder than normal.Well worth a watch even though it takes a while.
