This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

The last 30 minutes of this movie are riveting. Nana Patekar, a great actor at most times, has possibly given his best performance of all time.Like some others here, I am also writing my first review because this movie was THAT good. However, I disagree that this is a movie about family estrangement - I feel this movie is basically about what happens to artists when they retire - the estrangemnt only provides the backdrop. To start with, I thought Vikram Gokhale did some great scenes, but I think Nana was giving him the stage so to say. Nana's daughter also had a great scene when she asks him not to leave them. All this while, I thought Nana was ok, considering his high standards. But he absolutely turns it on in the last 30 minutes or so - it is a long drawn out soliloquy in the end as he is the only major character in most scenes - and Nana's eloquence comes to the fore.I am tempted to call this the greatest movie I have seen - definitely the greatest Marathi movie and there have been some really good ones in the last few years. Hats off to Nana for an immense performance - over the last few years, I had my doubts if he had another great performance left in him - but this one blows away anything else I have seen from anyone. Thanks also to Mahesh Manjrekar fro giving us yet another great Marathi movie. This is MUST watch - I am two years late to it, but I am happy I got there in the end.

IMDb simply describes it as the story of a retired actor and his wife cast away by their children. But it is indeed much more than that. What is so special about actors, i have always wondered. and Nana Patekar, with his marvelous acting, just explains why a great actor is indeed great. This movie deserves 10 stars just for Nana's acting alone. Nana's role is wonderfully scripted. And as always, his dialogue delivery is the best.

Ocsar deserves this movie yeah right Oscar deserves this movie... The acting writing dialogues everything are up to mark... It was my first review here and I really want people around the world to see this epic movie. Not only nana patekar but all the actors played their part at 10 on 10 level. I made me cry it is not because I am very sentimental but this movie has something in it... 1. Acting 2.story 3. Direction 4.actors 5.screenplay 6.Dialogues Everything they were excellent over 2.45 hours. This movie can beat all other movie of Bollywood. Small budget but still how they managed to deliver such a great cinema. Marathi movies really started paving their work...

This is the first ever Marathi film I saw. I don't understand Marathi completely as I am kannadiga, but subtitles helped me. Actually I was carried away by this. Excellent action by Nana pateker, medha, gokhale and vidya character. This is a classic film. I used to watch Kannada, Hindi,English, Telugu and Tamil films only. After seeing this ,I will add Marathi films to list. Excellent poems, slokas and Nana pateker excelled in his acting. And once again proved the beauty of dramas. And Shakespeare's works were created interest in me. Especially the line 'To be or not to be' echoed in mind. It resembles the tragic ends of Shakespeare dramas.
