Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Breakinger A Brilliant Conflict
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
barjo-915-203229 I am a cinema fanatic and make a point of watching at least one movie a week at the cinema. I got to four or five different foreign language festivals a year. I look for cinema that challenges, that is different, than changes the paradigm I use to look at the world. But now I will see no more movies. After seeing this, I know no movie can be greater. All I can say is..see it, you will not be disappointed. If I went blind now, it wouldn't matter. The design, characterisations, depth, the themes, the parallels with history and the French revolution. The Homeric like adventures of the characters. Stunning. If ever cinema could provoke thought into what is truly "the human condition"...it is this work, so subtly and mysteriously called "My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade"
atown-zec This film shows that modern cinema has evolved into an entity greater than what was assumed. From the moment the opening titles crossed the screen, the moment the credits began I was captivated by this movie to no end. The emotional uplift, and heartbreak were so real, and seemed as if this was happening in reality. All my skepticism about this movie was blown away the moment Tiddly Wink, Tra La La, and Zipzee graced the film with the monumental opening line "Hip hip hooray, another day to play away in Breezie Blossom." Never since "Reservoir Dogs" have I seen such a poignant opening scene. From there the pacing of the movie astounds even the most impatient of viewers. Never is there a dull moment. Never is there an unlovable musical number. The movie is in itself, brilliant. The movie toys with your expectations in such a way that you are unaware that it is doing so. You can feel in your soul the power and might that is "My Little Pony". And with open arms I welcome this movie to the likes of "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane", "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", and so many more classic films.I believe the film is best fit by its closing line, delivered by the ensemble cast: "That's you and you, and yes it's true, that you are a princess, too." Yes, never was there such catharsis delivered in such a monumental closing.Never was there a film so great as this, and never shall there be another.Oh right, LOL jk.
ddo-8 I began to watch this movie with a skeptical mind after seeing all the positive (to say the least) reviews, thinking they were some sort of elaborate joke. However, after the opening scenes, I immediately fell victim to the beauty and seamless art form presented by Dal Chele. Even though Wysteria was a pony, I instantly connected with her on the deepest, most human levels. I oft forgot that she, nay, any of the characters were ponies at all. All I saw in their complex, colorful forms was excellence, depth, and pure emotion.Truly, Jeanne Romano and Dal Chele alike are Michelangelos in our modern era. The Princess promenade is the magnum opus that will define their careers as director and writer. The actors were cast perfectly, and never once failed in communicating the profound profiles that defined these ever wonderfully crafted ponies. The divinely talented cast, crew, and creators of this film have certainly raised the bar for future cinema and may re-define the world of fiction. I do not exaggerate in saying that I believe this piece of visual poetry will help bring us forth into a new age of art and storytelling, even if it is a mere stepping stone upward into a 21st century Renaissance. However, the biggest way this film affected me was in its ability to truly inspire! I have been trying to write a novel over the past several years, but seem to fall short time and time again, both in content and motivation. After seeing The Princess Promenade, I now understand what it means to create art, to bear forth a fiction that can feel more real to than our own very lives! More importantly, I have since seeing this quit drinking, having found that the true substance life can be found not in a bottle, but all around us, and in our own selves. Also, after watching it again with my wife, was able to re-establish the love in our relationship. Thank you, Wysteria. Thank you.
taintsmasher My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade asks the audience to share unimaginable pain.It details, without sentiment or manipulation, how parents react when a school bus crash takes the lives of almost every child in their small town. The film is no simple-minded child's tale. The Princess Promenade visits the impossible contradictions of bereavement with clear-eyed compassion. Not many filmmakers could make that trip. Victor Dal Chele navigates it with skill.I cannot recommend this film highly enough. Watch it with a loved one, and prepare to have your lives changed and your bond strengthened forever. The Princess Promenade saved my marriage.
