The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

Snowy surroundings of beautiful Balochistan "Farhan Hafeez" as cinematographer simply outstanding. Land, Family, Principles can you remain loyal to all? In this era of corruption "Jami aka Jamshed Mahmood Raza" asked very valid question. Shaz Khan acted superbly, Samiya Mumtaz with short but central and effective role & last but not the least Hameed Sheikh simply marvelous. Lyrics, Acting, Direction, Story & Music all were perfect. Its a gem for Pakistan cinema & way way better as compare to highly budgeted commercial movies. I would recommend every one to watch it once. I bet you wont regret. An Extraordinary Step Towards The Revival of Pak. Cinema:Moor (Mother) directed by Jamshed Mahmood Raza aka Jami is an incredible film about ones struggle against the internal demons and the corruption lying within ourselves as well as dealing with worldly troubles. An original script inspired by true events, set against the backdrop of decay of Pakistan Railways and how the corrupt used it to their advantage to loot the locals and make unethical profits for themselves. The lead actors Shaaz Khan and Hameed Sheikh deliver performances worthy of praise on a global front.Jami also proves his metal, using the lens in the most cunning way to capture, not only some breathtakingly scenic views but also the drama in a way that only the most gifted could. The story is also to be lauded, traveling back and forth between the present and the past in a manner that does not overwhelm the viewer yet also builds up suspense and at the right moments unraveling in a beautiful manner to elaborate on important plot points.By my humble opinion it most definitely carries the potential of a film worthy of an Academy Award. I would recommend it to not just all fellow Pakistanis but also to the foreigners reading this review. My Ratings: (a strong) 8.5!!

First of all I have never written any review for any movie. This is my first ever review. I was desperately waiting for this movie to be released. The took sometime but the end result was worth waiting for. Most part of the movie is filmed in my hometown. The landscapes, the music, cinematography, acting, script everything is near to perfect. Most of the actors are local from my hometown, and I can't believe how amazingly they have acted on big screen. Thumbs up to all of them. Jami the director is indeed an accomplished professional in his field. The Music by strings will leave you in awe and the script is written my well know writer Anwar Maqsood. I would recommend every one to watch it once. I bet you wont regret.

Moor is a film that is simply way ahead of time. One normally gets to see such films from a mature industry once in many years. Such films are normally made without taking commercial aspects into consideration because such masterpieces are crafted for achieving way more than just money. Seeing a film of this level from an industry that is trying to revive itself was an awesome experience and it is hard to collect enough words to express the joy and satisfaction I had after watching this masterpiece from Mr. Jami & his team. Honestly no local or Bollywood stuff that I have seen so far comes even near to this... Moor is truly an emotional masterpiece... It is a film that truly represents Pakistan & the things that represent us ... family, relations & land... This film has it all ... excellent direction and cinematography, outstanding story and acting (especially by Mr. Hameed Sheikh, great music & a great depiction of the beauty of Baluchistan.. Hats off Jami & team for a film that any Pakistani would truly want to be associated with Pakistan ... Yes it had few minor flaws as well but overall it is highly recommended for those who appreciate true drama & true story & are not too much into commercial films... Again this film is not for those who want some action, some dance moves with charming item numbers and enjoy stories that are straightforward and easy to connect. This movie demands patience from its watchers and only those will enjoy who have the courage to bear the story till the end. I will not be amazed if this movie fails to earn a lot of money but at the end success of such a top class masterpiece does not deserve to be measured in terms of revenues that it generates. Moor is successful because it has communicated the message that it wanted to convey in an awesome manner and this is the Real Success of the film.
