Police lieutenant detective Thomas 'Thom' Randall's steady girl-friend, Dr. Jennifer 'Jen' Allen, is Dr. Aaron Michaels's main assistant on his pharmaceutical firm Bellion's research program to cure the highly contagious, fatal infection Guinin. A convicted murderer, whom Thom arrested, is one of their special drug test subjects, but escapes. The convict and Jen are affected by radioactively altered DNA from an experimental reactor used on mosquitoes which transfer quinine. The convict soon mutates into a mosquito-like monster, which sucks its victims dry. By the time Thom and his junior murder brigade partner Charlie Morrison figure out what happens, Jen starts mutating herself.

Mosquito Man Audience Reviews

GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
ActuallyGlimmer The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
TheLittleSongbird Mansquito(or Mosquito Man) was a little better than I expected, but that's not saying much. It is surprisingly not bad on a visual front, with good photography and nice locations, and the music at times was spookily atmospheric. Plus the ending was the best part of the film, very effective. What let Mansquito down though was a fair number of things. I have seen worse special effects, but they are still rather cheap and not very well-utilised with the mosquitoes not menacing enough. The script is of the cheesy and stilted kind and the story apart from some spark at the end never really engaged me, coming across as dull, predictable and especially with the male mosquitoes ridiculous. I probably would have had a stronger impression of Mansquito if the beginning had been promising, but viewing so many obvious mistakes in one scene really hindered that. The characters didn't come across as very likable either, not as stereotypical as I have seen characters other movies of the genre before but annoying and underdeveloped, and the acting is really quite poor. Overall, could've been much worse, but Mansquito bugged me too much for me to properly enjoy it. 4/10 Bethany Cox
Wizard-8 Director Tibor Takács has had a very inconsistent career. He has directed some good movies ("The Gate", "I, Madman", and "Sabotage"), but he has also made some real stinkers ("Lies And Illusions", "The Gate 2", and "The Black Hole". Unfortunately, "Mansquito" falls into the latter category. Not everything about it is awful - for a production that was reportedly made for just $5 million, it looks very nice. The cinematography is good, the movie manages to disguise the Bulgarian locations as American, and the creature of the movie uses a pretty impressive looking rubber suit instead of CGI. However, as good looking as the movie is, it doesn't prevent the movie from becoming a big bore. The first half of the movie doesn't emphasize the monster that much, instead focusing more on the boring human characters and their boring dialogue. And when the movie does start showcasing the monster more in the second half, it comes across as very tiresome and nothing we haven't seen before. The movie seems inspired by 1950s monster movies, but this update simply forgets to keep the "fun" factor those old movies often had.
flashgerling This is an awful film. There is very little that is at all appealing for this movie, but if you are willing to take a film and create a drinking game to it, this has fantastic possibilities. The most interesting part is that the back of the DVD suggests that there is a completely different plot than the film in fact creates. Not even close. There is some crazy killing and highly humorous activity that ends in a highly disappointing way. The only real complaint for a person that is ready for unintentional humor is how we are mislead. This movie is worth watching, but for only the rare few that are willing to take a punch to the mouth and accept the craziness. Watch it with absurd expectations.
MartianOctocretr5 Creepy looking convict gets some genetic engineering stuff on his hand and rapidly morphs into an even creepier looking creature. Mansquito is outrageous, but actually gets in a few scares on you. Watching that thing drink is pretty gross, what with blood being the implied soft drink of choice. He starts finding victims immediately, some at random, others for revenge. He takes particular interest in seeking out a female doctor at the genetic engineering lab, who herself may be contaminated with the stuff. You suspect this because she starts liking sugar and raw meat. Plus, she gets a bad case of "red-eye." Enter the stock plot coincidences. The aforementioned doctor is romantically involved with the only cop who seems able to figure out the horrible truth about the rampaging mansquito. A predictable finale that you see coming for about half the movie is delayed for the usual routine of an unending stream of trigger-happy cops taking turns futilely shooting at the armor-plated beast, with the obvious results. You won't believe the venue they choose for this high-body-count carnage. Not bad, for a Sci Fi channel low rent quickie. A few scares, a few laughs, and good fun. Just remember to turn your brain off before viewing this.
