After reading so much positive reviews about Miss Bala I thought I was going to be in for a treat but it turned out to be a great disappointment. It's just a weak movie with not much positive to say about. I thought it was extremely slow with a lot of moments where the story was going nowhere. About the main character played by Stephanie Sigman, if it was to make her look depressed for the whole movie then she did a good job. Don't expect a lot of great conversations because it's the opposite you will get. I'm sure the situation in Mexico regarding the corruption and the drug cartels is really bad but it's not like in Miss Bala. It's just not a good reflection of the situation there. Despise all the good reviews, to me this movie is boring. I even had to watch it in two times because I fell asleep the first time.

An amazing film.It does an incredible job of making you feel the tension and fear of the lead actress. Of how powerful the drug cartels are and how helpless and lost Mexico's citizens are.The camera work is great. At times it lingers on so you can see and feel the gravity of the various situations. It does a good job of showing the violence without being too graphic. Turning away the camera at certain moments and letting our mind imagine what is happening based on the sounds.Very well put together movie. You can feel the emotion throughout. The pain. The feat Very impressive. Much higher quality production than many Hollywood movies.

Throughout the ongoing drug conflict in Mexico, multiple stories have come to the media attention without being entirely clear for everybody.Miss Bala shows the connection between models and young attractive drug cartels, women that have been in some occasions being misjudged by a narrow idea of the current dynamics in many Mexican towns and cities. Not a black and white context movie that accurately shows the many sides of a conflict and a war that has been reduced to a body count. With a very good construction of characters, the film shows the inside and probably the reasons that make the drug conflict in Mexico one without an easy way out. Highly recommended to get a wider idea of what people are going on right now, either as a civilian, a cop or a hit-man for a drug cartel.

The film starts with a nice storyline of relating everything to a beauty contest and slowly it takes you to some of the very nice movie experiences. It sure does makes you think why is this and that happening but then again the elements will show the reasons and by the end you will definitely see the whole motive behind the film. The film also encompasses the feelings of the girl entrapped in an impressive way. It shows us how the gangster world works everywhere. The story was very nice and tight. The handling of the film is nice. The acting is average but that is not what you will have to think about. However at the end you will feel sad for the girl."A must watch for everyone wanting a taste of a different cinema."
