Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Michael Ledo Darryl (Alex Williamson) and Joel (Jim Jefferies) work at the telephone exchange during the zombie apocalypse. They are soon joined by their boss Roy (Greg Fleet) and his daughter Emma (Adele Vuko). Joel and Darryl had recently killed Roy's wife and Darryl spends the whole film attempting to break the news to Roy. They are later joined by two apprentices (Matthew Popp, Andy Trieu ) one of which is the boyfriend of Emma and not liked by her dad. This is an Australian comedy-horror. Our heroes are nonchalant about the zombie issue and care more about trivial aspects in comparison. There is plenty of blood and guts. Most of the humor consists of one liners that work.Guide: F-bomb. Brief sex and nudity.
kittenkongshow I don't get why this film has as many good reviews on here both from users and critics.I didn't find it particularly funny nor horrific. The acting was not that good either.I keep getting suckered in by Zombie films and regretting it...Still at least it's not found footage...Only give this a go cheap or on TV etc...
jayneflakes I bought this movie on DVD from the bargain section in a local supermarket, for the princely sum of £3. I did not expect much at that price, but given that I quite like Jim Jefferies, I was prepared to give it a shot. What I was actually presented with was a charming and funny low budget film made by people who clearly love the genre. There are several in jokes throughout the movie and the usual robust Australian humour, all of which made the movie really rather funny in places. However (and be prepared for a spoiler here) the demise of Jefferies is a beautifully silly and funny moment, which did make me laugh. At the end of the movie, the on going conversation between the last surviving cast of Greg Fleet and Alex Williamson is not only funny, but also clever. As Williamson stumbles over his words, it is hard to tell if it is a cleverly written joke or just a very lucky fumble. Either way, it had me laughing again. This is not a high budget movie, it is however made with love. The cast clearly loved every moment and to be honest I rather enjoyed every silly moment. One of which came when Roy (Fleet) is explaining to Darryl (Williamson) why he does not like his daughters's boyfriend this is actually a clever joke and it does put a switch on how we the viewer think about the characters. It is true that this movie is not as sharp as Shaun of the Dead and it is not as bleak as Zombieland, but it does have a charm of it's own. Think back to what it was that we loved about the original Romero movies, those low budget gore fests that were about the love of storytelling, rather than fantastic visuals. This movie has a similar heart in it and although it won't appeal to everyone, it appealed to me and I enjoyed it. Best £3 I have spent in ages.
sarah despite generally poor reviews i watched this for jim jefferies thinking there must be something in it for his fans - believe me their is not. indeed, i thought and still think he gave up halve way thru and asked to be allowed to go home. i joke not. there is a scne part way thru where he seems to get blown up off screen and never appears again, itis hard to believe and all thru remainder of movie i expected he would return to paly soem key function in film, but he does not. I cannot say i blame him for asking to be let off early if that is what happened. there are so many Aussie tropes that could have played welll to a light hearted zombie comedy that are just missed in this film.another of those movies where u wonder how people can get backing and the be too lazy(?) or talentless(?) to do a decent job of putting together a fun wack the zombie movie. It has no idea of where it is headed, no sense of whether it wants to be light comedy, boys fun, gore, or whatever and achieves nothing. Nothing at all.
