Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

Let me start by saying this that I had never heard about this movie before and it was pure coincidental and through the divine intervention of internet browsing that I bumped into it. Followed by watching the trailer and impressed by the dance moves shown, I decided to watch the movie "make your move" or in words "Romeo and Juliet in step up"Those who loved step up, street dance and all other dance movies would surely love this because, yes the movie has a lot of dance moves that will make your jaw drop but is that enough to make you watch the movie….hmmm… totally depends on your patience levelThe movie story is totally romeo and Juliet (if you have missed my hints in the above two paragraphs) having kids from two rivaling clans falling for each other and surviving through the hatreds and rivalry but sadly the movie does not explore much on the romance quotient which I guess is acceptable considering that this is in whole a dance movie. The good points is definitely the music and dance routines and having professional dancer (Derek hough) and musician (BOA) for lead characters do actually make it better but can they pull off a story other than dance routines….sadly ..for me…no..There is no plot to the movie per say and whatever story is there kind off runs like a marathon and too fast for you to actually cope up… the movie pretty much follows a strict regime which is 5 min story 15 min dance routine and this follows throughout the movie but nevertheless I loved it for being a sweet chick flick and most of all for the dance routines. Its fine unless you are expecting a through and through entertainerThe movie has no plot and whatever plot is actually taken from the usual Disney movies and threaded together to narrate an obvious story. You will predict everything from the moment the titles starts showing up but the movie has some real good dance sequences that kind of is worth the pain

I gotta admit the only reason I decided to watch this movie, is because I like dance flick and because it has Boa in it. Despite it having Boa, this movie was super disappointing. The dance scenes just didn't stand out and the romantic elements was too drawn out and boring to watch. I get that they were trying to go for that Romeo and Juliet direction revolving modern setting and dance. But it falls short in every level, including the acting. I know they were trying, but it just came off super cheesy. Some 12 or 13 year old girls might be cool with this flick, but I just can't see how anyone could enjoy this sappy, cliché, drawn out dance/romance flick. I think the only reason I kept watching was to do this review and because to see how Boa would do in a motion picture. And again the dance scenes has nothing spectacular. I am not shocked why this flick bombed in box office.2/10

Derek Hough, Emmy winning Dancing with the Stars pro, and Asian star Boa collaborate on the theme of dance and love. Theirs is a Romeo and Juliet story for the modern age complete with feuding brothers and problems looming. If you watch DWTS and know Derek's dance brilliance you will be amazed at his tap dancing in this film which looks so professionally done even though he is new to tap. And those like me who know little of Boa will be equally impressed with her abilities. The love story is sweet and tender and touches your heart. There is only a minimal amount of violence and language and a maximum amount of dance. Great for a date movie. Good for families and just to see that gorgeous Derek body makes it a winner for girls night out. Yum!

I went to watch this film to Croatia from Hungary because that was the nearest place where I could watch it. And because Derek Hough is my favorite American dancer and I wanted to see him on the big screen. And that trip is worth it, of course! The story is usual, average. A girl meets a boy, their families are enemies so Romeo and Juliet love story on big screen. And they need to fight for their love. And refuse someone else's love. :) But they have a nice and touchy moments. There are great, outstanding dances and choreographs. I had favorite movements immediately while I watched. Scenes are good as the rest of the cast. And the music is also very, very good. So, all in all, it is a great film! Definitely worthy to see it. Once I would like to see it in 3D. That would be awesome. :)
