Absolutely the worst movie.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

Read this book a few years ago, was excited when I heard it was going to be made into a T V movie. The actors and actress pulled you in from the beginning of the story. The movie invoked emotions from angry to laughter I found it hard to keep the tears and bay in the end I found my- self crying. At times I just wanted to slap the father, but by the same token I could see he believed in his heart he as doing the correct things for his family. The lessons learned in this movie are truly blood is thicker than water, ad when life get rough love and pray will pull a family together only making them a stronger unit.I hope Regina King will choose another novel to turn into a made for T V movie she brought the essence of the African American family.

Loved, loved, loved the movie. Reshonda Tate Billingsley wrote a wonderful novel and Regina King directed it beautifully. The story centers around an African-American church-going family whose dad just happens to pastor the church. His commitment to the church is called into question as the lives of his children spiral out of control. Each of the members of the family is going through their own private hell's and must come to terms with their own demons, distractions and issues in order to overcome their circumstances successfully. Coming to terms with their issues is going to cost each of them way more that they ever wanted to pay. If you are looking for a great feel-good movie, this is it. I highly recommend you view this movie! The casting was on point and the acting was superb.
