Lakeview Terrace Audience Reviews

FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Floated2 Lakeview Terrace stars Samuel L. Jackson as an obsessive cop named Abel Turner and Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington as Chris and Lisa, a newly couple moving into the neighborhood. This film is interesting for the portrayal of the characters, although it is a typical predictable cop drama, which has been seen several times. On their side, Chris and Lisa think it's probably a good thing to have a cop living beside them. At first. The ending of the film is somewhat predictable as we knew everything would break lose as it was time to end. It could have been done better with a better twist but it was solid.Lakeview Terrance only problem is that, it is not much of a thriller, as it has been labeled. Samuel L. Jackson's character wasn't creepy or disturbing enough to warrant many thrills, he was more so just uptight, strict and a tough "by the law" officer type. This film falls more under a drama than thriller as it was predictable and a straight up story.
Johan Dondokambey The movie opens so very slowly despite the normal speed of its entire pace. The story didn't really build that well for the first half part of its duration. I didn't even quite get what the movie was aiming to promote as its main theme or conflict until about half an hour into it. Then it all make sense although it's still unclear about the background and reasoning behind the behavior of the Able Turner character. At least it gets better, although in a weird sense. It's because Turner suddenly tells everything and spills out all the missing details, in a bar chat. Samuel L. Jackson acted out nicely in portraying the hostile cop, despite the lack of clarity from the screenplay's part. Patrick Wilson did just okay in balancing for the movie.
FilmBuff1994 Lakeview Terrace is a very poor movie with a dull storyline and an overall uninspired cast.Samuel L. Jackson does a great job and will always be an outstanding actor, but he still wasn't enough to make this movie decent, the only scenes that I really liked were when we got to see his character working for the LAPD,which we saw very little of.Kerry Washington did the best she could with the character she was given, sadly it was a boring character that lacked any interesting personality traits, but I found Patrick Wilson's character very annoying,he wouldn't stick up to Jackson's character and couldn't defend his own household and I found the character unlikeable.Lakeview Terrace is a really slow and mediocre movie that I think people would be better off avoiding.A racist veteran LAPD cop starts a violent campaign of intimidation and harassment against his new neighbours because of their interracial relationship. Best Performance: Samuel L. Jackson Worst Performance: Patrick Wilson
g-bodyl Lakeview Terrace is not a bad thriller at all. In fact, it's better than most thrillers that comes out in the fall season. This movie kept me tense the whole time. However, this movie sometimes go out of control and becomes somewhat weird but I did not mind that. This film is about a racist cop who does not approve of his new neighbors and their interracial marriage. He does what he can to make their lives miserable and then some....What made this thriller so good is the presence of Samuel L. Jackson. He practically carried this movie with his left hand. He is a very talented actor and he shows it here. I wouldn't want to mess with his character. Also, Kerry Washington and Patrick Wilson were pretty good as the couple.Overall, this is a tense thriller with some over-the-top moments. It is better than most thrillers out there today. I rate this film 8/10.
