Humbersi The first must-see film of the year.

tracyoquinn This is an outstanding film, everyone gave a wonderful performance and they were obviously having a good time also. It did not have to compete with the set locations or special effects. The lead actor who played George had never acted before, are you kidding me? Hard to believe how much fun this movie was. If you have missed this movie you missed a comedy gold mine- like a certain cast member taking a bath in a champagne glass! This movie needs to be re-released or something, it did not get the credit it deserved.As in reply to an earlier post, I do not think the story line referred to the wonders-of-a-Latin-American-family-making-your-life-worth-living as much as it showed how wrong it was to base all of your actions in your life on the opinions of family members that seemed more concerned with appearances than with you. Alicia's family was not worried about the fact that she was backpacking across the country with a pretentious, conceited white guy-that was her business. They were just glad that she was home and proud to share their home and culture with her friends. George could see this was how family was supposed to be and this was a safe place to open up. Also introduced him to more of Alicia's charms I must admit. But still all in all, she could have been Polish or Israeli for all that-it was still a welcoming family. Can they help it that Latin Americans are just more fun than your average Nigerian? (kidding!)

totallynonboguschick This is a film that I honestly didn't expect to like. Reading the summary over, I thought this was just going to be another boring, forgettable movie like most romance stories are. But, I was pleasantly surprised.One of the most charming aspects of this movie is how it doesn't try too hard to be anything other then what it is. The comedy is natural and easy, as is the delightful dialogue. The tender moments are sweet, without being corny. The characters are very likable, and add a lot to the story by just being themselves. They aren't too glamorous or flashy, just normal, real looking people. Very refreshing indeed. This may not be the type of movie I'd buy and watch over and over again, but it is definitely something I will not forget, and it left me smiling all day. I give it an 8 out of 10.

Chimale1025 This is a very "indie" looking "independent film. Hollywood should be making more films with themes like this. It's sweet, cute and nice, but I was expecting a little more from it after having seen the more evocative short subject on which it was based. It suffers from "indieitis". Like a lot of small films it isn't developed enough to fill its length. One complaint I have about "independent" film is that the films have a very low "viewability" factor. Whether it's lousy acting, poor storytelling, pathetically trendy or arty camera work (like Waydowntown) or just the "director's" self important view of the world, I just wish film schools would just disappear from the face of the planet. This film suffers from the poorly chosen overused pop music score. Most of the music has been overplayed in commercials and other disasters like "Van Wilder". Its odd to say that despite a lot of huge faults I liked this film. I just wish more thought had been put into its conception. Its a charming premise, lighter than air, but as anyone who truly appreciates a good romantic comedy knows, they are harder to make well than almost any other Genre.

ckjd19 after a very disappointing year of movies no movie stands out in my mind more than "jump tomorrow". with fresh writing, directing and an incredible cast to bring it all to life "jump tomorrow" was my favorite theatre-going joy of the year. after attending the premiere of "jump tomorrow", i eagerly brought friends to see the public opening, everyone loved the movie as much as i did and we still refer to it often. we only wish we could get a copy of the movie in our hands so we could watch it over and over again!
