Good story, Not enough for a whole film

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

Joe Dirt 2 is exactly what I expected,a decade late sequel that's much better than what passes for comedy these days. Combining a parody of The Wizard Of Oz with a parody of Forrest Gump, they throw in some clips from the first movie and you have something. For me,the most disappointing thing is all the plastic surgery poor Brandy has had.The whole Dennis Miller thing didn't make any sense but that was a tiny part. I'm sure the reviews on here are terrible and I don't even have to read them.I can see how the average person wouldn't get a lot of the jokes. The people who will say it's low-brow crap are the same ones who just don't get the jokes. While not as good as the first and not truly great,it's the best comedy this decade.

Yep. This was a loser. At least the original was good for some laughs. This turd just wasted my life. Casting : Mark Mcgrath? Really? Bad choice there. It did have Miller, Walken, and Spade back so I thought it might be worth a look. I was wrong. When I say this is fart joke garbage, I'm not exaggerating. Contrived non-plot, no new characters worth a crap, and the old ones have no physical comedy or decent writing. None. At all. I'm writing a review on this for one reason: I hope to save you from wasting 90 minutes of your life. The first 90 minutes of Hateful 8 blows this out of the water for comedy. Check it out.

The reason I liked the first Joe Dirt a lot was because Joe Dirt was a likable and kind of an innocent character. The first movie had some crass jokes and it had some dark humor in it, but Joe Dirt was always the shinning star of the story. He felt like a real character that was just down on his luck, the humor might have been silly and gross at times but Joe Dirt was still an innocent, Naive, good person looking for his parents. That was the core of the story. A good guy that did not have the best life and wanted to find his family. What do we get here? Just a cynical version of that character.the subtlety of the character is completely gone. This felt more like am actual mean spirited Parody of the first Joe Dirt. there was nothing deeper to this movie than just the jokes and the cameos. Say what you will about the first movie but it at least tried to have a heart underneath all the jokes. What happened to "Life is a garden, Dig It" what happened to that? that's my point. This movie felt like if it was written and Directed by Robbie (Kid Rock) from the first one. The same exact thing happened to the Dumb and Dumber sequel and the Vacation sequel. any kind of innocence and naiveness those characters had was replaced by foul humor. Not sure what is happening to comedy anymore. Everything is just loud and obnoxious today.

I remember becoming excited upon hearing they were making a sequel to the 2001 David Spade comedy, but then more recently went back and watched it again for the first time in over a decade, and why exactly was I so excited-?? LOL I also was not aware this was going direct to online- was thinking it would be a theatrical release. "Beautiful Loser" is the first made-for-a-website sequel to a theatrically released film. Crackle decided to do this to develop their film studio. The first review I read for this was, let's just say, not pretty...LOL So I had very little in the way of high expectations for this when I got around to watching it the other night. But the film actually wasn't all that bad. It kinda does a take-off on "Forrest Gump" this time around with Joe telling his second story to a lady on a park bench. This time the movies goes into the supernatural a bit with a whole time-travel angle. I would say the most amusing scene in the film was Joe sitting around talking to a teenage preppy young Lynyrd Skynyrd-??- but other than that, unless you're a huge fan of the original, I'd go watch something else, in fact there is probably better original material on Crackle-??
