This is a the ferocious tale of a vain real estate agent (played by Jonhathan Zaccai) living in a an upscale suburban neighborhood who experiences a painful mishap that will cause him to explore the depths of his own emptiness. A true initiatory journey that examines, among others, the theme of the meaning of life with a good dose of refreshing causticity.I enjoyed Je te survivrai a lot. It has a good sense of tempo, great lines, the two main characters and some of the supporting roles that are just too good to be true + a not so shallow standpoint on the meaning of life with a pinch of do-the-right-thing dilemma. Definitely worth seeing ! The only small reservation I would have was about the accuracy of accents which is really only noticeable by natives, so should not be a hurdle.
GUENOT PHILIPPE
A true Worth film from Belgium and France. The tale of a ruthless estate broker,a fierce and selfish man who stops at nothing to achieve his goals, who happens to be trapped deep Inside a pit. A simple pit in which he got down Under to stop the water supply for an old woman living on his land. In short, he intended to expropriate the old lady. Only for Financial reasons. A greedy and disgusting character. This story becomes very poignant, very sensitive, and not only funny or ironical. Althoug IT IS IRONICAL. A movie that makes you think about it long after the viewing. The characters study, especially the man and the old lady's ones, are fully and tremendously described. We can think of LA CAGE, back in the seventies, starring Lino Ventura and I don't remember who as the female co star...
