I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

So I've just seen this movie and I can say that it is somehow disturbing and I had an unpleasant feeling during the movie. This is an actual issue these days.
I think that the final point of the movie was that it's actually all about that one person that loves you (and in this case: saves you).
Important movie. Something has to be done because technology is taking over and it's just not worth it.

Though not much of a comedy, which I thought it would be, Ingrid Goes West is an interesting look into today's online society and one's mental illness of obsession and loneliness as she stalks a young hipster girl in L.A. It's not perfect and can be a bit slow and boring at times but it has a good story and characters and a great cast with a perfect portrayal by Aubrey Plaza of Parks and Recreation playing a crazy person that you can sympathise with. Not groundbreaking but still a great drama with some creepy and funny elements dropped in. 8/10

While this movie might end up looking obsolete in a few years depending on where technology goes, sociologically, it's damn on point and prescient. Not so much funny as dark and disturbing, it did a good job of showing how empty everyone was, even the so-called "heroes." The ending was a nice touch as well.

I found this movie on Hulu and normally I don't bother too often with "straight to DVD" titles but I have a soft spot for both Aubrey Plaza and things written in neon. Watching this movie for the first time, I really had no idea what was going to happen, was Ingrid going to kill Taylor and take her place? Would she try to convince Taylor's loved ones that Ingrid was in fact Taylor? I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome overall. Very nice cinematography and set design, reminiscent of Neon Demon, Drive or San Junipero. The soundtrack was also another great part of this movie. Those portrayed as social media icons may be a bit over the top but I think they embody what social media personalities are. Great movie that shows the downfall of a stalker. Also just as an aside, I'm actually very happy she didn't die in the end, it was a predictable ending to begin with but I'm glad she was saved after all.
