Captivating movie !

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

This film is an intelligible mess. Flash backs and cut aways in abundance with a Demon was just not gruesome or anything really and it was Demon and not Demons as the title suggested. The editing, Wow! it was like the rushes had been dropped on the floor and in a panic had been hurriedly put together whilst wearing oven gloves. I am sure someone smarter than me will point out what I have missed.

Not all demons are palpable. Some exist within. And House of Demons exposes both.
Not your typical slasher movie.
It has a sort of 1970s vibe.
Watch it and keep your nightlight on.

This is not your typical horror slasher film. The name House of Demons conjures ghoulish creatures popping ut of closets ready to eat flesh. There is one traditional enough demon, but also a lot of non-traditional demons - like a manipulative cult leader and manifestations of the internal demons in the character's minds.
The director here is very ambitious and creative, showing us a lot of things we haven't seen before and some things we have but in a completely different way. It's super low budget but some pretty cool things were done with what they had. Really cool cinematography and some crazy editing choices make HoD a cool and interesting watch.

A horror film that probes into the psyche. Not your run of the mill blood and guts nightmare thriller. Cast includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer's "Tara", a charismatic actress and creative filmmaker in her own right (Amber Benson). What more could a movie lover hope for? Give it a try.
