If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Humaira Grant
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

The movie HottieBoombaLottie was written and directed by Seth Packard, who also plays the main character in the film. It's a comedy that is specifically directed towards an audience of teenagers and young adults. This movie is unique and original with no unnecessary scenes. It will have you laughing out loud throughout the entire film and completely free of boredom. Every scene has its own importance and all ties back to the main plot in some way. Overall, this is a great movie for almost anyone and will have you and you're friends laughing and attentive the whole time.Robert Koehler of the L.A. Fest goes on to argue that this movie "gives off a strong professional sheen and elicits a few laughs isn't enough to keep it from being a badly miscalculated effort in the end, sure to leave potential buyers with a sour aftertaste." Some critics also say that this movie is just another bad teen film. They might say that some of the characters have no development, or that there aren't any functional relationships. But first of all, the characters do not all need to be developed. There are certain characters that are better off left as they are. Showing growth in certain characters would only make the film less interesting. After all, the goal of the movie is more to keep the viewers laughing and entertained, and not about a less important characters development. And even though there are a couple of characters they do that with, the film still maintains its storyline, maintaining order and tying in all the small parts too.One of the best reasons for why this movie is so intriguing is because of the choice of actors. Seth Packard, being the genius behind this independent film, makes this movie hilarious. The way he acts with his ridiculous phrases and facial expressions makes this film unforgettable. His character is very goofy and unique, his every action stirring up another set of laughter. The comedy shown throughout this movie is different and original, with a lot of stupid and funny phrases that will have you quoting the movie repeatedly afterwards. Every character does great in being believable, likable, and unique. It feels like you really know them and they all contribute to the humor and ridiculousness that makes this movie unbearably amusing.Another way in which this movie stands out is through its unique is through its amazing cinematography. The choices for each camera angle and lighting really help out the movie as much as possible. The place where the camera is situated and its movement really accent the comedy throughout the movie. It also enables you to see some of the different aspects of the story; things that are more subtle. After watching the entire film a number of times, you really see all the little jokes and humor that aren't always caught the first time through. This and other factors make this movie easy to watch multiple times. There are plenty more reasons that make this movie so great. One of its best aspects is the originality and uniqueness. The jokes and humor are all ridiculous and original. The main character Ethan dances quite a few times during the movie. It is a very geeky and fun to watch style of dancing, something that isn't seen outside of the movie. Also, the music throughout the movie is original to music played in other films. The catchy and never heard before songs set the mood, while still being absurd and funny to go along with the atmosphere of HotttieBoombaLottie. Although it is a great movie that many enjoy, it isn't very popular. One way in which this movie turned negative is in the cover art and title. Although it fits in a way, a lot of people avoid watching it as it may defect there view on what kind of film it is. Other than that, it is worth your time for some good laughs. In conclusion, this is an authentic movie and is great for laughs and fun entertainment. . This isn't a well known movie, but I believe it is slowly being spread as many would recommend this comedy. The storyline is creative and original, using humor throughout to bring the story along. Despite the movie being full of ridiculous comedy, it also brings out some important life messages and has a romantic twist. The end of the movie leaves you satisfied and giggly, and glad that you took the time to watch it. Take less than an hour and a half and indulge yourself in one of the funniest and most original independent films there is. You wont regret it!

This was a really funny, well-made movie, and I'm even MORE impressed now that I see Seth Packard not only played Ethan (the main character) but also wrote and directed the entire thing! That's amazing, especially since he's not even 30 yet. If this is his first attempt at writing/directing then I think we're in for some great flicks from this guy! It kind of sucks that it appears not too many people have seen this movie (judging from the number of reviews, etc). I think part of the reason for that is due to the movie's title and cover art :\ Neither one does the movie any justice and/or favors. I fell upon it by accident somehow and decided to give it a whirl. Seth, keep doing what you're doing!!! My only complaint (other than the title/cover art) is that the movie was a bit short...I wanted more! More more more!!!

This movie really made me laugh. It kept surprising me. I agree with other reviewer that the characters were unique. I thought the main character was very sweet, even if he was sort of clueless. There were no long unnecessary scenes, and it's not overly intellectual. It's just funny, lighthearted and cool. All of the characters were believable. The oddball side characters (the main character's "cousins" from California) reminded me of my offbeat friends from high school. The last scene before the brother was sent off is rather touching to me as well.Good movie for 17 plus. No nudity, just a couple of more mature themes.

It is a modern comedy for teens and young adults. The characters are likable and unique. They are put through unexplainable situations which cause the viewer to laugh, think, and appreciate the creativity and originality of the story. The camera work and lighting are good and fresh. The music is original and it sets the mood. The story is great! It appears to have meaningful and insightful symbolism with too many small details and jokes to keep track of. I laughed out loud for nearly the entire time. In the end it makes me want to see more from this director and these actors. It is all that I could currently ask for in a comedy. It baffles me that this film isn't a known hit.
