Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I just don't understand the appeal of these movies. The movie is exactly what it looks to be, its yet another in like a million movies where people are being chased by a crazed killer. Yawn.I gave it actually better than I usually would because its pretty well shot. But in the end its just another slasher flick - if you like them this may be for you but if you need, like, a plot or something interesting then pass.

Fear, tension and ultra violence abound in this French film by Alexandre Aja known as "Haute Tension" in French or "High Tension" in English when it was released in the United States.Cecile De France and Maiwenn star in this slasher flick that have had a lot of people talking and debating with regards to the twist of the story. The screenplay deals with law students Alex and Marie, who are going to a rural area of Southern France,to study together. All of a sudden,a killer suddenly appears and started to create havoc to the family of Alex. The biggest issue here is not whether the film delivers or not but rather the big twist in the end when it was revealed. The identity of killer and Marie being one and the same has caused a lot of uproar among movie fans and critics as many stated that it was a major plot hole.Too bad that a lot of failed to realize that the story was told by Marie herself from the hospital and failed to realize that a blur of her imagination and reality could exist in her version of the story.Essentially, the story being told by the movie is far from true and accurate. So those people who felt that the movie cheated in its twist is far from the truth. If there is one fault that director Alexandre Aja did which caused this commotion among viewers is the fact that he did not show explicitly that Marie was indeed interviewed about the incident. But nevertheless,it was a great slasher French flick. It was evident that French director Alexandre Aja is a big fan of this genre as shown in his movie as he adapts familiar scenes and elements shown in these familiar slasher movies in the past.No question viewers who love them will surely enjoy "Haute Tension" as well.

This was your standard slasher movie with a twist at the end. The movie was okay. Only continue reading if you've watched the movie. My review is more about the psychology of the story from the two writers. One of them must have had a girlfriend who was stalked by a lesbian and this movie represents that ordeal represented in a horror film. Marie is you stereo typical lesbian with short hair and a manly face. She wants to dominate and possess the more feminine Alex and goes about killing her family to achieve this. We are first to believe that the killer is some psycho madman who drives a truck and kidnaps Alex, but at the end we see who really is the psycho. The important scene is when at the house, the madman, cuts out Alex's face from a family photograph.

this will be short and sweet. there's one good death. otherwise the movie is a bunch of "why didn't anyone help each other?" i suppose the ending twist makes you go, "oh. thats kinda retarded." there are way better horror movies out. personally feel the little boy being killed didn't need to happen. his role was so insignificant you could've left it out and it wouldve been the same movie.line of text. line of text. line of text.good enough IMDb?nope.now?watch it. you'll probably enjoy it .after seeing a Serbian film its hard to watch horrors seriously and be impressed.
