Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

As great as Dirty Dancing, Flashdance and Footloose all rolled into one.

On the one hand, like most reviewers who have seen this movie, I fully agree that the plot is incoherent and unsatisfactory, even worse than the first High School Musical. On the other hand, I feel a little embarrassed to admit that I like the songs in the movie, particularly Gotta Go My Own Way as sung by Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron, and Zac Efron's solo, Bet on It. In a nutshell, I think High School Musical 2 is a collection of MVs, just forget the story, and enjoy the songs.

This sequel is different than the first because it takes place during summer vacations, in the Sharpay's local club. Here we will see the jealousy of Gabriella about Troy. He doesn't will give interest for her because bad girl Sharpay will court him. They will play golf together and Troy will also meet his favorite basket-ball team.I preferred this episode to the first mostly for the songs, the first song is my favorite. I felt this episode was a bit longer than the first one, maybe because it take place in a summer club, but if they did another episode in high school, i think we called it "remake". I would like preferred something else.

HSM2 is just that... FUN!Summer is here and East High is ready for some fun in the sun. Troy gets all the wildcats jobs at the posh Lava Springs Country Club, although he doesn't know that Sharpay is behind all that. She is determined to get Troy and he is determined to get a scholarship for the local university. So, through a series of events, which is almost his down fall, he looses his sense of direction and with it his friends and sweet heart.Sharpay in her scheming, pushes away her faithful brother, Ryan, who then turns to a Troy-less wildcats, who in their turn welcome him with open arms. Anyway, Troy, after some soul searching, realizes what he's become and gets things straighten out with Chad and Gabriella. The movie ends with a happy song in a pool party by all, including "friendly" Sharpay...until the next movie! This movie never promised great insight into the human soul, but it did deal with some teenage issues, which are nevertheless very important: The discovery of real love, real trial, real friendship, jealousy, betrayal, selfishness, and ultimately forgiveness. And they accomplished all that without dropping the fun and the spirit of HSM. And most importantly, keeping the characters clean all the time, making this movie as well as the other 2 ideal for the young audience that absolutely adore Zac Efron and his gang.Don't expect excellence when watching it, just go with the flow and have fun, if you are not boring, you will enjoy it.
